Thanks!!!!
Hello tensen,
We appreciate your support and patience. Having read (and re-read and re-read) Unveiled Masters, I think you will truley enjoy the product. Mssrs. Parent, Kensen, and Maliszweski really outdid themselves. There is enough information, background and snazzy new Feats and PClasses to make the most jaded of PCs sit up and pay attention when you have them finally track down the malevolent power behind the throne.
Just to give you a taste of what's to come, below is the introduction of the Mindflayer Prestige, the Violet Line by Mr. Jason Parent:
"Two tall humanoid creatures stepped from the shadows, wrapped head to toe in deep-stained full plate covered in spikes. But no amount of steel and mithral armor could conceal the strange tentacles that emerged, also armored, from their faces. One bore a spiked shield and a bastard sword that shone darkly, almost seeming darker than everything around it. The other held forth a length of wickedly spiked and hooked chain that seemed mounted to the shoulder piece of his plate mail.
Neither looked pleased to see the drow infiltrators in the city."
The Violet Line are as close to paladins as mind flayer society gets. With their obsession for order, some militarily inclined mind flayers take up arms as guardians and defenders of their kind. The Violet Line is a society of like-minded flayers who train their membership in the arts of war to uphold and enforce the laws and edicts of their society.
While the Violet Line's society itself is secretive, much like a warrior-cult, its membership is not. When the Violet Line goes out in force, they go with the support of their entire society. They are seen as the paladins of the mind flayers - noble warriors who take up skill at arms to turn back their inferior (and more numerous) enemies. The members of the Violet Line, known as violet paladins in most mind flayer societies, do not see themselves as individuals, but rather as part of an army that exists to defend the ways of the flayer civilization from which they came. They are defenders of their society, usually against outsiders, but sometimes against itself. They believe that the laws and precepts of their society are immutable, and will fight with all their might and power to prevent change, especially from within. It is said the Violet Line has pressured that more than one flayer city in secret into maintaining the old ways.
Best,
