Augment Summoning

Eh......Heros of Horror......

How does impoved con help Summon Undead I-IV? Wouldn't giving a con bonus to summoned undead make them.......ah...ummm........nonundead on arrival?
I dunno. Can you change an undead to a living creature by casting Bear's Endurance on it? :)

OK, non-smartass version: Having no Con score is not the same as having a 0 Con score. Adding 4 to a score of 0 gives you a temporary score of 4. Adding 4 to a nonexistent attribute does nothing. Likewise, Fox's Cunning doesn't do anything to non-intelligent creatures, etc.

Well, up until I got Dungeonscape yesterday I'd have agreed with you... but the sentry ooze template seems to indicate that adding a +2 to an int of - gives you an int of 2...

Oh goodness, what a can of worms that will be... sigh :D

As far as Summon Undead spells go though, if you're using lots of those, you'd be better off taking the Corpsecrafter feat from Libris Mortis which allows any undead you raise/create with ANY necro spell (not summoning I know, but...) to have +4 Str and +2 hp/HD (LM p.25)

Heh. So an Augmented Zombie goes from having no Con modifier, to having -3 hit points per hit die? :D

-Hyp.
