August 2nd Northern California Game Day- Memories on Page 3

I figured I guessed right since the acronym for EchoPhantom is EP, the xp in HM. Wow, he played in the Western Regionals and he's not interested in another Hack? That's disappointing. HackJoe, I'm sure, would be willing to GM Lucky. He GMs his little brother regularly.

Yeah, he's 14 :D
He can get, um, moody? Anyway - I think he's more into Champions and D&D right now (and video games and girls...)

Lucky has wanted to play since he watched us at KC, so he'll be happy.

See you Saturday.

So does this mean I don't need to bring a PC?

Not if you don't want to. I'll create a bunch of characters so you should have a good range of
choices. No monks, though...

If you (or any of the other players) want to play a specific type of character (race, class, etc.), let me know, and I'll e-roll it up before the game.

Oh, and I'm trying to stick with the original three books, without too many additions. If you've got a particular prestige class you want to play, let me know, and I'll consider it.

I'd actually prefer to create my own, if ya don't mind. I dig creating PC's. :) I'll go with level 7, 78 total stat points, and standard level 7 wealth from the DMG, and I'll stick to core material. Let me know if there's anything else I need to consider! Thanks.

Okay. Okay. Okay.

Dude. Saturday.

So... due to a timely purchase of a Gamecube, I've been dividing most of my time between Zelda and Eternal Darkness, with some Super Smash Brothers Melee thrown into the mix.

But it's time to pull this thing together!

Great Escape Games has been officially informed of our descending on them Sat., and they wrote down our details, and I think the assistant manager even knew about the ENBoards! Yay

Awesome! Good job, Reapersaurus! Rolled a 20 on your Diplomacy check, did you? (I'm such a nerd...)

Thinking about it, we actually have quite a bit of gaming planned for that day, with more options (roleplaying, Game of Death, Monster Island demo, board/card games) than we have players/DM's I think - it should be fun - the more, the merrier!

Yup. And keep in mind that many players won't be playing until 6 o'clock, so having all these other games to play will be nice.

Tsu - Being this close, you might want to put the date of the event in the thread title.

Good idea, Mark, and thanks for helping us through our first game day so far!

Tsunami - go ahead and open up my game to 8 players.

Done.

Tsunami, did you get a character done for me? Don't mean to be pesky, just curious.

Sorry, I'll get to that today. My gamecube's been destracting me, but also giving me a few ideas. Er... not that you'll be playing Mario or anything...

P.S. Oh yeah! DEFINATELY get tables by the giant fan. Definately. I have been in there when it's hot and, uh, full of people...

Good idea. I don't think we D&D players are rumored to be the best smelling people in the world... :D

Hey, my friend Fred just let me know he wants to come too.

Sure, I signed him up for the Temple of Pazuzu game.

Okay. Okay.

Dude. Saturday...

On another note, we should probably discuss breakfast.

I didn't have any this morning, so I'm a bit hungry.

(Ha!)

Er... yes. But how's meeting at Denny's at about 9:00 sound for you folks? To be honest, I think chances of us meeting as one big group at 9:00 are pretty slim, so we'll probably get tables by groups.

Speaking of... how will we know who's there for the game day? Maybe we should have a secret password? Like... "Excuse me sir/ma'am, but half of 7 is 3.5, correct?" "Yes, but I'll be rounding down to 3.0"

Or, y'know, we could have name-tags. Or an orange sticker on our shirts, or something...

That will work fine. See you Saturday.

Remind me to tell you a story of a Pacificon I attended in the Dork Ages at the Dunfy where I saw one of the poor housekeepers wandering down the hall spraying room deodorant into the air to try to kill some of the smell...

oh, wait, I just did tell you the story...

I was actually wondering the same thing. If you want to make it easy, someone from each group could just bring a book or dice in. That would certainly be easily identifiable.

Also, where exactly is the Denny's from Great Escapes?

What we could do is have certain people (the GMs, for instance) print out something (but not necessarily) like these:

And tape them to their sleeves, shirts, or hats. That way, we have key people we can recognize and flock around.

Or everyone could do it.

Again, if this idea is acceptable, we could come up with a better logo that's not made on MS Paint. :)

Another assignment for the 'saurus. Call Denny's and have them arrange seating for a group of 20. They must have business groups, church groups, club groups, that kind of stuff frequently enough to handle it. That way, every one just goes in and looks for the big group!
