[August] What Video Games you playing??

Let's see:

X-box: KOTOR. (have some other games to get to on X-box, but I try to focus on just one at a time).

Gamecube: Metroid Prime, Mario Golf.

PC: NWN:Shadows of Undrentide

Only two weeks or so until Soul Calibur II hits the shelves, and I can't wait. I'm still deliberating about which version to get, but it will most likely by the 'cube version, so I can get Link, instead of Spawn. I can always get an arcade stick.

All in all, I'm finding that I just enjoy the games on the Cube more than the Xbox games. I'm glad for KOTOR, which gives the Xbox it's first 'must-have' game in a while. I like the Xbox...I'm just waiting for the time when the best games for it aren't still in development. :D

All in all, the PC games have been completely overshadowed by the console titles, and there isn't much on the horizon that's likely to change that, with the possible exception of Half-Life 2 and Doom 3...but those will probably both require serious hardware upgrades to actually be both playable and enjoyable.

I have the import GC version, and its great. The only negative is the controller's button layout. Let's just say its sub-opitmal... Or put another way, I prefer the standard Dreamcast controller for SC {complete w/the trademark arthritis-inducing Claw of Doom button coverage system...}.

If I were you, I'd try and demo both versions before you buy.

Well, let's see.

PS2- Dark Cloud 2-- if you ever played the first Dark Cloud then you will love this one. They removed all of the irritating parts of the first game and kept all of the good stuff. No more losing a weapon you have been working on for days.

DC- Yes, I still play the Dreamcast. SoulCalibur-- warming up for the sequal to hit.

PC - Aliens Vs. Predator 2- Picked up the gold version for 15 bucks. Hard to beat that. Loving the online survivor mode.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters. I'm amazed at how "realistic" (that is, accurate as far as close to the rubber monster suits used in the movies) they got the monsters, including truly authentic battle roars. As far as all the kung fu battle moves, I've learned to take them with a grain of salt.

Sadly, my teenage son continues to whoop my butt every time we play.

Devil May Cry 2 for the PS2. Better than the original, and I enjoyed the heck out of the original.

On the PC, I love starcraft. Endless fun.

This would be the first time I saw anyone say that.

As for me, I haven't been playing anything of late (i've been spending more time reading).

Started playing Final Fantasy Tactics (on the PS1) again. Hadnt touched it for 2-3 years, but its still amazingly fun to play. If they made FFT2 I would probably buy the new console that supported it just to play the game.
