[Avenger] To fullblade or not to fullblade

1) Persuing Avenger Dagger Master needs Dexterity and Wisdom. Nothing more. Seriously. -NOTHING- more.
I was thinking purusuing avenger ranger dagger master -- which needs either Dex, Wis, and Str (and makes to-hit rolls on all three unless it ignores some powers) or more likely, Wis, Chr, and just enough dex to multiclass rogue. (so not as much MAD as it looks like but you're not following your secondary Avenger stat). Reminds me, I should roll up a windrise ranger/avenger/rogue, aiming at daggermaster (probably beastmaster, given the high wisdom and the intent to use dual daggers by paragon); that's fun (and cheesy).
Admittedly Ardent Champion Critvenger needs Dexterity, Strength, and Wisdom, isn't has heavy in the Dex department, but crits almost as often and for a TON more damage. But, it's totally doable so long as you rely less on your censure and more on your oath... and that IS something that Persuing is capable of doing with all the movement it gets.
Huh. What is the AC critvenger doing with Str? I do wish there was a crit path for Int avengers (aside from, you know, a jagged weapon). It's not like going avenger/critfisher is particularly off-kilter -- it's how avengers (if they do) keep up with other strikers.

Go the Fullblade. Trust me, it's loads of fun.

I personally prefer the elf as a pursuing avenger. Getting shifting powers only to not be able to use them because of difficult terrain SUCKS. Plus 7 base movement is awesome and will eventually be bumped to 8, which ups powers based around half movement to 4 squares which is AWESOME.

Plus elves have elven accuracy. This is not to be underestimated. People say it's redundant because the avenger rolls twice for their attacks and rarely misses but I can tell you right now, I use elven accuracy every single encounter. There is NOTHING worse than being an avenger and missing.

Well, ok, there is something worse, but that's missing four times after using elven accuracy :D

Other striker : ooooh look at the big bad "I never miss dude" ... missing uh huh uh huh...he missed again... he missed again.
Avenger : Im gonna tell mom!

A part of me is going ... huh? he misses less than everybody else in the book .... what paranoia it is to think elf is a good option. But then another part is thinking focused fury with a elven bow that is kind of flavorful.

I probably just like the Avenger. ;)

An Elf Avenger gets even more out of the re-roll than a normal Elf. :)

Let us say you get off 4 attacks during a fight and you have a 50% base to-hit chance. Normally you would hit on 3 of the attacks and miss on one. With the elf-reroll this goes up to 3.75 of the attacks. Pretty sweet if you ask me. :)

Elf reroll can also help to get criticals with your daily.
If your crit range is 18-20, when you roll 4 rolls you have almost 50% chance of rolling a critical hit.

so you suceed but keep rolling hoping for a crit? 18-20 is obnoxious in the first place... but this is a striker.( you are talking high level to get that arent you?)

For fluff's sake I'm going with the deva, although the elf is tempting.

Does anyone know of a picture of someone wielding a fullblade? I just want to get a sense of size ratio.

But yeah, my DM (who co-DMs in the same homebrew) would be fine with the fullblade being a better crafted greatsword. That way I can keep the damn thing around 5 ft in length ;)

Don't get worked up over the size of the sword. For one thing, we have almost no fluff at all, so any picture someone shows you is just how they're imagining it, which isn't really specified in the rules at all. The only indicator of size that we have for the Fullblade is that it weighs 10 pounds... only 2 more pounds than a greatsword, and about the same as most two handed weapons. Anything beyond that is just what you have chosen to imagine. An if what you imagine the fullblade looking like is silly, then imagine something less silly.
