"Award Winning" Story Hours

I've seen (contact)'s Liberation of Tehn mentioned several times and will chime in with another recommendation for it, but I can't believe that y'all forgot about his PC-death-filled Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil!

O, and Rel has 3 good SH's, even though he won't admit it...

More pimpin'...

(contact) is also the author of the Risen Goddess story hour. Plenty of death and destruction in that one, too. Plus, as the author would no doubt want me to point out, "it's got [male anatomy] jokes."

Rune has written an absolutely fantastic (in both sense of the word) story in a unique setting. It cannot be described; it must be experienced.

Silver Moon is currently recounting the tale of his adventurers taking on the Beast of Burden. I like this story because it's light-hearted and action-packed.

Enjoy!

:o aw shucks, Enk. Coming from you that's a big compliment. Enkhidu and D'shai's "Small Beginnings" story hour is fantastic only limited by the fact that there isn't more of it.

*sigh* I've GOT to work on my pimping skills. I stink at this.

My recommendations for story hours are, as always, in the .sig below. Links convienently provided below. Also highly recommended is jonrog1's story hour, which is Dark Matter and modern day (and so not listed below) but more than worth the investment of time. Or you can read my Story Hour, the Lurker's Choice!(tm)

There was one more I really liked that don't make most people's lists: Silver Moon's "Chinese Take-out" story hour, which has some neat characterization and concepts.

Thank you so much for the nice comments. That module was one of the best ones I have ever ran, and was a true labor of love that took on a life of its own. The setting is the Forgotten Realms orient of Kara-Tur and the Zhentarim's Darkhold Castle, with a climax battle in the Abyss. The Story Hour is rather long (95 chapters covering 37 games) but I think you'll find it to be a fun read.

And thank you Joshua Randall for the kind words on the current "Beast of Burden" module (from Dungeon Magazine #100).

I'd also like to put in a plug for the Story Hour of my Boot Hill/AD&D Hybrid campaign. It's a quick read, consisting of two short modules: "Welcome to Promise City, Arizona" (16 chapters covering 5 games) and "The James Gang Comes to Town" (12 chapters covering 3 games). We'll soon be starting the next module in this campaign, "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral". The link is as follows:

Sepulchrave because it was the first and best one I've read.

Wulfs because it's the second one I've read... and simply for the.... 'YOU KNOW FIREBALL!?! TRANSMUTER MY @%%' line.... I'm trying to keep my spells hidden in one of the games I play so I can freak out the other players... but they are sneaky little ... yeah...
