[BAD AXE GAMES] GRIM TALES PDFs and electronic aids, now available at RPGnow!

So, do you have any plans for releasing the whole of Grim Tales as a PDF, or just assorted excerpts? 'Cause I think it sounds interesting, and I'd really like to buy it in PDF format (assuming a reasonable cost, of course).

Well, yes. With the provision that I'm currently working on a PDF schedule where whatever interests me the most gets released first.

And I haven't yet mustered much interest in the more mundane sections of Grim Tales.

It will happen eventually, and if you bought all the PDFs separately you'd spend slightly more than if you just bought the hardcover. (Unless I release the Combat and Hazards sections-- two long sections that rely the most heavily on the SRD, at no charge, which is likely.)

I was thinking more along the lines of releasing it as a single PDF (costing about 1/2 to 2/3 of what hardcover costs), not each chapter separately.

Are the PDFs reprints of chapters in Grim Tales/Slavelords?

If so, would you consider selling the Excel Sheets separately? (I'm
not fond of double-buying.)

Thanks,

Gamemastering-- Rewritten, much improved, and probably worth the cost for the spreadsheet utility alone (though I consider the spreadsheet to be a freebie here, as the cost of this PDF is based on the page count). I recommend this one.

Mass Combat-- Does not appear in GT at all. Again, the spreadsheet I consider a freebie, the cost here is based solely on the PDF page count. (The spreadsheet doesn't do much, but it's quick and handy and you'd need it if you didn't already have GT, as it calculates the Battle Rating based on EL.)

Creature Creation-- I will not list this separately from the PDF. If it helps, pretend you're paying for the spreadsheet and the PDF is free.

Horror-- Same stuff as you have in the book, no spreadsheet-- no need for it for you!

I got it! I got it! :D

By the way, after much cajoling, the programmer on the Creature spreadsheet is working on some bare functionality for spitting out a statblock. When it's complete, I will update all purchasers with the new file (as I will do anytime there is a product update).

Sweet. A bit of a stat block would be nice. Already finding the sheet for creature creation to be quite useful. Did have a problem, though, with the Physical Attacks section of the sheet being locked on "Bite".

A friend of mine and I are currently tinkering with a d20Modern cha-gen sheet Rohin Joyce created to get it to spit out Grim Tales characters. CURRENTLY we think it shouldn't be too hard ... the functionality is there, it should mostly be data replacement. If it works out properly and isn't too hard I may drop a line to Rohin to see if he wants to drop a line to you to see if the two of you may be mutually interesting to one another, since you may or may not be in the market for an experienced ChaGen excel guy.
