[BADD] My players threw down the gauntlet!!

My ever so close to epic players think they are bad mu... dudes.

One of them said and I quote "We can take on 3 Wyrm White dragons with no problem."

Now I would almost like them try to kill 3 wyrm white dragons but I can't for the life of me see why 3 dragons would work together.

Now I got my plans, involves dragon wizard and a dragon rider. I need to humble them.

Any suggestions. I making the stats now and will post them when I get done.

Feats: Fly by attack, wingover, hover, Power Attack, Improve Intiative, Spell Penatration, Greater Spell Penatration, Immproved spell resistance (BOVD) and *Violate Breath Weapon

*My own creation, like BOVD Violate Spell like ability. Basically 2/day the dragon can have half the damage from the breath weapon be vile damage.

11th level sorceror spells

1] Shield, Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Endure Elements,Burning Hands

2] Mirror Image, Bull Str, Darkness, Web, Endurance

3] Prot Elements, Dispel Magic, Haste, Blink

4] Enervation, Stone Skin, Improved Invisibility

5] Teleport, Wall of Iron

Go ahead and tell me what to improve.

I'd change Resist Elements to Endurance or Cat's Grace. That's a minor change though, because the players' caster levels are so much greater than the dragons, so he's likely to lose all his active spells to a single Greater Dispelling. If the dragon also took Empower Spell, he'd be able to empower the bull's strength or endurance, which is always useful.
 

Hmm,

I'd lose Mirror image for Endurance:

Additional 1d4+1 Con (avg 3) will make you Con 28 (+9 modifier), boost your HP by an additional 66 (for a total of 677), pump up your Fort save to +27.

I'd swap Wall of Iron for Wall of Force

There's nothing like dropping it in front of the party and then watching those fireballs detonate prematurely...

It's also useful for physically separating the party so you can divide & conquer.

Have you generated a horde for this dragon? If not, generate one randomly, then look through it for items the dragon can use against the players.

You might want to think about dropping a feat and taking Extend spell. That should make most of you buff spells last 22 hours (most buff spells are 1 hr/lvl, 11th lvl caster = 11 hrs x2 for the extend = 22 hrs). It only takes one slot higher and then, depending on the timing of the casting, you should be able to have full buff spells running plus a full contingent of spells available to cast.

Ditch Rainbow Pattern for Stoneskin. That will give an additional 10/+5 able to suck up 110 HP of slashing, piercing & blunt damage before going away.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head and without knowing your group.
 


I was thinking of taking endurance. Wall of Iron is there for a particular purpose. Namely crushing some players.

As for the horde, yeah right. This poor dragon has been the mount for the Icecrown kings (frost giants) for 600 years. What ever horde it had will be weapons and armor for the rider :)

Thats it for the party. Some rules, Harm is unchanged from the book :(

There are no wizards but tons of flamestrikes and such. The part of the world they are in right now is covered in snow.
 

I count four separate ways this dragon has of protecting against fire damage. That seems a little high.

I would drop the Resist Elements and Fire Shield. Endure Elements and Protection from Elements is enough protection. Besides, I wouldn't want to be the rider when the Wyrm cast Fire Shield on itself. Protection from Elements is for both rider and wyrm.

You don't have the snatch feat. This is a very popular feat for dragons, I would drop hover to pick it up.

Do white worms get any domain spells? Don't have a monster manual here to look it up.

Take Enervation as a replacement 4th level spell. Draining their spell ability will help a lot more than Fire Shield. The other option is Confusion, would love to see the other players run as the Cleric with Harm ready got confused.

What are the rider's capabilities? Hopefully it has some ranged nastiness it can contribute.

BTW: Are you really going for a TPK?

As for snatch, per the rules the dragon can only snatch up creatures 4 sizes smaller than it. For the gargantuan white wyrn this only means small creatures. Will not help here. I don't know it I am looking for a TPK, definitly a humbling experience. As for the rider, he is going to be a lance charging monstrosity.
