I believe we're talking past each other.

What I'm saying is, based on my sparring experience with such a weapon- combined with the stuff on-screen- it is a weapon that nearly anyone can use as a martial weapon 2 handed, but that it's construction makes 1 handed use possible but awkward without training- like a Bastard Sword.

As for the double longsword comparison, I was observing that IT is 1d8/1d8 without much else as an exotic- making this homebrew weapon 2d4/2d4 tripping, disarming 1Hd Ex/2Hd Mar would be too much.
