Batman Begins sequels to feature the Joker

I really, really, really hope this is true. :)

As read in the latest Premiere magazine featuring Batman Begins, Goyer states the next film will involve the Joker ... "The next one would have Batman enlisting the aid of Gordon and Dent in bringing down the Joker- .... but not killing him, which is a mistake they made in the first one". The article then says that "In the third, the Joker would go on trial, scarring Dent in the process."

Sounds like the setup for an amazing trilogy (at least, trilogy in terms of original cast ... as I believe Bale, Oldman and Caine all signed 3 picture deals).

Finally! I think that a classic superhero movie mistake is that they constantly kill the bad guys.

Joker... I guess it really depends on what the director wants. Funny-Joker or Scary Clown Joker. I hear that madness is quite difficult for an actor (though Brad Pitt did a surprisingly excellent performance in 12 Monkeys).

I always thought that Jim Carrey would have made a good Joker (if the director could keep him from acting stupid).

And I think that Clive Owen would make a great Two-Face; but if Dent has already been cast...

Meh, I'd rather see someone else. Though I guess they have done all of the famous ones and need to go through them again, eh?

I wonder who is on the list of actors to play joker.
Hopefully Mark Hamill, he's proved he's good at the part (I know, unlikely, but it would definitely be something to watch, and bring back flashbacks to the Animated Series and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back) :)

I think he would be good. Anyone remeber the old CBS Flash TV show from the early 90's? Mark Hamill played the same bad guy in a couple of the episodes.

I must say, I'm actually quite surprised at this news.

From what I understand, Hollywood execs tend to frown on movies that don't sync with each other; something to do with them thinking the audience won't understand the movies if one has apparent discrepancies with the other, and thus buy less tickets. DC must be low on classic Batman villains to get a chance to bring back the Joker and Two-Face in a way that doesn't mesh with the previous Batman films (so much for seeing Killer Croc and the Ventriloquist in future films ;) ).

I think Jim Carrey would be a great Joker, but for the reasons given above, I don't think it'll happen. I think Mark Hamil's voice would be great if they dubbed it in (love the animated series), though I doubt he'd be an optimal choice for an actor appearing on the screen.

Carrey was correctly cast as the Riddler. I had always thought Robin Williams would do well as the Riddler, but Carrey was a great choice.

As for the Joker, I'm not sure who could pull it off and top Jack's performance.
