Batman Begins sequels to feature the Joker

The new Batman franchise (beginning with "Begins" :) ) is a complete restart. Disregard any previous movies.

Good, I hope this is true. Time for some blasphemy: I thought batman 1 was a letdown. I love Tim Burton, but only for his quirkier stuff like Big Fish and Ed Wood. He's not really the guy for a comic book action film. And the script really sucked. And Jack's performance was one of the most overrated of the decade.
I'd love to see the joker in the next film done right.

I agree with you on Batman 1. It looked cool, but felt... artificial, I guess.

As for a complete reboot of the series, it has been called that by the director and main star.

Interesting,

I share the same sentiments. I liked hte movie for what it was, but it is not even in my tops for comic book movie of all time. The death of a villian is more action movie than comic book movie and some stuff was over the top. When I watched it, i felt like was seeing an action film as opposed to a comic book movie.

I stand by my notion that hte best person to play batman was Val Kilmer. YEs the movie sucked because of direction and costumes, but Val was the only one who had everything about hte comic character down packed.

Jim Carrey could make a fine face for the joker, Heck he played more Joker than riddler in the Buttman and rubbish movie. Not sure about the voice, which is why i like the idea of dubbing in hamil.

All right. I'm going to throw something out of left field.

I really, really, really want Hugo Weaving (Elrond, Agent Smith) to play the Joker.

He's got the perfect facial and physical build for it. He's already got the creepy grin, even without prosthetics. And we already know he can play truly, deeply evil. I admit I haven't seen him do manic insanity, but I have little doubt that he could.

No he hasn't, he has a face similar to Nicholson, roundish. The Joker has a long angular face with a pointed chin. I utterly despise the Joker as a character absolutely appalling villain, and I am both unsurprised and dismayed that he is going to be the main villain for the next Batman movie. Still at least it's not going to be Mad Hatter, Riddler or the Ventriloquist.

Villains I'd like to see used are: Two-Face, Firefly, Bane, Poison Ivy, Zzasz (never going to happen in a PG 13 I know) and Killer Croc. Still my favourite villain is in Batman Begins (Ra's Al Ghul) so thats something, and Scarecrow is pretty cool too.

Just hope to god they don't add in Robin/Nightwing or Batgirl. If he needs a sidekick, add in Azrael.

Roundish?

Hugo Weaving's face?

I don't see it. No, it's not as angular as the Joker's, but nobody's is. It's certainly angular enough to make it work.

But then, I'm coming from a different angle, seeing as how I really like the Joker as a villain.

Joker... I guess it really depends on what the director wants. Funny-Joker or Scary Clown Joker. I hear that madness is quite difficult for an actor (though Brad Pitt did a surprisingly excellent performance in 12 Monkeys).

We have a winner!

Whoah, you've listed all my favs.

Plus Bane and Azrael are two of the worst things that ever plagued the Bat-titles...

Hugo Weaving would be an interesting choice for the Joker. Good call, Mouseferatu!
