Bear's Heart Spell Question?

We use it in our campaigns extensively, our 19th level cleric has taken to maximizing it. The strength is rarely useful, but the hp can keep the wizards alive just long enough when the area effect spells start flying.

The problem is the short duration and the 19 additional points of subdual damage it hits us with at the end. :)

Buffs are good because they go both ways, require tight groups, don't kill anything, take up turns to cast, etc.

We like bear's heart in our group. :)

Why not? It has a fixed range and doesn't get discharged (the entire spell isn't, unless I'm misreading it). The maximized version wouldn't be eligible right now, but a normal version would be.

Hi,
IMO you can't make Bear's Heart persistent cause like I read Persistent Spell, you can only make spells persistent that effect only you (personal or fixed range where fixed range is always only a range for which your caster can do something afterwards. E.g. Detect Magic with a fixed range of 60' lets the caster detect magic up to that range. Perhaps the range should be given as personal and the range of the detection should only be given in text or as area of effect).

Greetings
Firzair
