Beastial PC

Well I have been WoW for awhile and played a little of latest Zelda game on Wii (where Link was stuck in wolf form) and I got to thinking about wanting to play beast as PC. I was wandering is it possible top do in 3.5? It does not have to an animal and it could be a magical beast or something that looks like an animal.

What exactly do you mean, though?

Just a general, "is there any way to play a nonhumanoid in 3.5?"

First thing that jumps to mind is an Awakened animal. (Awaken is a spell in the PHB)

Also if your DM appears to be resistant first suggest something a little TOO far out then try a more reasonable one.

For example when you first bring it up use a Blink Dog Rogue or Wizard, then when he objects work it down to something more mundane like a Worg.

Possible? Yeah.

Asvisable? Not really.

Savage Species states that to be truly playable, a race needs at least opposable thumbs to manipulate things during the game.

Druid? Wildshape seems the easiest solution. Perhaps a Shifter from Eberron could be beasty enough.

Or even better, a Shifter Druid with the racial substitution levels in Races of Eberron (instead of wildshape, it increases shifting), and then segue into Weretouched Master v.3.0 (found in the WotC errata).

and that was the thing that really turned me off savage species

it is true that lack of fine manipulators is a major disadvantage, especially if you are the only animal in a group of humanoid PCs, but then thats half the fun of playing such a creature.
