D&D 5E Been out of the loop.. has there still been no announcements?

It doesn't looks like I have missed much but surely I'm just blind. Has there really been no announcements for 5e in the past like... 3 ish months? I've been busy with other things and I come by here every so often and see little snippets of Mike Mearls tweeting or releasing rules for 5e that we have had since 3.x. I know the guy that approved stuff was on a jury case but that was quite a while ago. Has there been no more book announcements, OGL release, online releases like character builder or PDF or... well... ANYTHING?

I do wish we'd heard more about digital strategies. Last year they told us to expect an announcement on digital stuff at the beginning of 2015, and that hasn't happened... maybe the delay was related to the things that went down with Dungeonscape, and subsequent change of plans, but I just wish we'd heard something.

They've been pretty dang clear about there not even being plans for more "player-side" books, let alone books actually in the pipeline. Other than Out of the Abyss, which was nearly 3 months ago now, it doesn't seem like much of anything has been announced. Well, Dragon+ finally launched, but I doubt that's what you mean.

Isn't part of that the DM tools in Sword Coast Legends, and part of it Dragon+?

Maybe, but if so, that saddens me. Unless I'm misunderstanding the DM tools in Sword Coast Legends and underestimating Dragon+, these bear little relevance to the tabletop game. In Dragon+ issue 1 the only thing I remember seeing that was relevant to play was a list of trinkets... Maybe there was more? Maybe issue 2 had more stuff? I thought we were going to see something related to digital release of content rather than video games and advertisement platforms... well, I guess there's the Fantasy Grounds license, too for content release. So, in a way, it's their, if you want to play the game online. Oh well, I guess you're right that we've seen a number of things pop up on the digital front; they just weren't what I'd been expecting or hoping for.

Out of the Abyss was announced May 6. Today is June 30. Not nearly 3 months ago. Not even 2 months yet.

Mike Mearls just said their new schedule has them announcing the next project after the last project launches. So, next project announcement is September.

Pardon. I wrote that on no sleep and somehow confused May and April. Had it been April, "nearly 3 months" would not be an inaccurate way to say it (because I mean really, we'd be less than a week out). However, yes, I agree that it has, properly, been just about exactly seven weeks, or "nearly 2 months." Happy?
