BESM D20 -- what's right about it?

I've read the thread about complaints concerning BESM D20. What I'd like to know know is a.0 whether there are people here who like it, b.) whether people are going to use it and c.) whether people would willing use this SRD to create their own games or play in games created using this SRD.

Well, I picked it up at Dragon*Con and I gotta say it's intriguing. Of particular interest is the "deconstruction of d20" section, where they show the point value system they used to build/balance character classes.

I don't know yet if I'm going to do anything with it, just because there's so little pre-built for you. The reason I don't use the HERO System any more is because there's so little ready-made source material, after all.

But if somebody released a campaign book and adventures that caught my eye, I'd certainly be open to the idea!

It's too bad that the point value system isn't anywhere close to balanced...

Well, it's pretty, I'll say that much. However, I feel that the original BESM (and now, dX Tri-stat) is so much better, why mess with something that already works great? Tri-stat dX can be downloaded for free from GoO, or pick up a print copy at your FLGS for only $10. Such a deal.

I like BESM d20. If I hadn't gotten the Arcana Unearthed bug I'd probably already be running a game for it. I may use it in the future for S. John Ross' excellent Uresia setting. I would definitely take a look at products that use its SRD. At the moment I feel no need to create such a product myself.
