Best 14th - 15th level module? *My players stay out*

When I ran it, it was a mix of 3.0 and 3.5. Other than changing the DR of those 6 armed monstrosities that kept killing my players (:]) and tweaking Sammael just a bit, it runs pretty well as is.

How deadly is it? I have a group composed of 6 people, all 14th level. Will they all die quick and painful deaths?

If you use the demons converted to 3.5 it will most certainly bring the pain. I was pretty liberal with some wish spells and certain other things, thinking they would have never survived. However looking back I probably sold them short and I think they probably could have managed. But we were all pretty inexperienced with high levels at the time.
I have it at home if you want to look at it.

Black Ice Well (especially if you like Sladdi), the deeper levels of Rappan Athuk, and Crypt of the Devil Lich does indeed look to be good and deadly, but I haven't used/ran any of it yet.

Bonegarden is good too, but I think you have to tweak it upwards just a bit for your levels to work.

Thanks. :)

I got the PDF version from DTRPG. It's on sale for $6.50 so I couldn't pass it up.

6.50 is a pretty good deal. One thing if you do decide to run it that is very certain, your players will hate slaad for the rest of their DnD playing days. :] And Craven, if played right will be a very sore subject for years.

Once deep inside the well there are rooms that if they go charging into them, they will be slaughtered. A certain room with sacrificial statues and basins for blood to drain into and a horde of those multi-armed demons comes readily to mind, it's a potential TPK. They'll either learn to be extremely careful (the place is designed to absolutely scare the bejesus out of them), or they will get very good at rolling up characters.

There's also another specific bit that may need conversion:

[sblock]There is a vampire psychic warrior that may need updated to XPH if you use that[/sblock]

Holy crap!

[sblock]I just finished reading the section on the Wormwood. Deadly man, just deadly. Yikes! Anyway, I'm probably going to use it. :o

Right now, the PCs are finishing up the Istivin series from Dungeons 117-119. They're about to go into town and will, hopefully, survive the final fight. After that, they head back to Sharn and are awarded land by the person who sent them to investigate Istivin. This land, right outside of Mistmarsh in Breland, will substitute for Tallraven. My PCs like to use teleport, so that's how I'm going to get them into the Wormwood. The question is, how will they learn about the Wormwood? When they PCs are staking out their claim, do they find out info from town? If so, how much info? Basically, I pretty much certain they're going to teleport back to Sharn once they reach Mistmarsh and I don't want them to feel completely lost when they end up, instead, in the Wormwood.[/sblock]

When I ran it, I foreshadowed Craven a few times in a "Who the heck was that guy?" kind of way in another part of the preceding adventure. Just irritating enough to get them curious. I'll have to look at the module again to refresh my memory. Edit..I remember now, after some foreshadowing, he stole something from them to make them mad enough to chase him halfway across Faerun, when they figured out where he went to he was already in the Rawlinswood (my Wormwood) doing his thing. They figured out what was going on at this point by chasing down rumors and such. Then it was on.
I don't know much about it, but you could always use this module as a jumping off point to Xen'Drik if you haven't taken them there already. I would think that would be the perfect place to put the remains of one of the most powerful evil dragons to ever live.[/sblock]

[sblock]It is easy to insert another bad guy for Craven? If you've read Shadows of the Last War, you're familiar with Brother Garrow. Basically a changeling who works for the Order of the Emerald Claw. I've turned him into a villain who's been harrying the party for a long time (since 2nd level). If I could insert him in the place of Craven, it would make life a lot easier. :)[/sblock]

Awesome idea. I also edited my reply above.
