First Post
Here is my first draft. I made this at 4th level since that is when I am joining the campaign. Rationale for all of this follows.
Human Warlord 4 (Tactical)
S 17 (1 added at 4)
D 10
C 12
I 19 (1 added at 4)
W 12
Ch 8
F +18
R +18
W +16
AC 20
HP 39
Feats: Weapon Prof: Spiked Chain, Tactical Assault, Arcane Initiate, Novice Power
Skills: Arcana, Athletics, Endurance, Diplomacy, History, Heal
At Wills: Wolf Pack Tactics, Commander's Strike
viper's Strike
Encounter 1st: Leaf on the Wind
Encounter 3rd: Icy Rays
Wizard at will as an encounter: Scorching Burst
Daily 1: Lead the Attack
Utility 2: Aid the injured
Equipment:
+1 Lightening Spiked Chain
Bloodcut Hide
Amulet of Health
Magic Wand +1
320 gp
I went with Charisma with the dump stat because I can't see a level of warlord where I would take a charisma based power over some other warlord power or a wizard power. Also, I wanted the tiny boost to wisdom for perception checks.
I decided to go with Spiked Chain for several reasons. It is a +3 to hit. So, for the exotic weapon feat, I get a +1 over every other reach weapon with every attack. Also, having a reach weapon allows me to stay behind the fighter and paladin and (hopefully) have less need for toughness. Finally, Leaf on the Wind has some interesting possibilities with a reach weapon (You or an ally adjacent to the target swaps places with the target) which I take to mean that I can hit from 2 squares away and still pull the switch. So if we line up E=enemy, W = Warlord, F=Fighter, R=Rogue, you have
EFWR
then after I execute leaf on the wind
WFER
Went with the wizard powers to have some nice ranged and secondary controller options.
I thought about taking a Thundering Spiked Chain for the ability to push an enemy 1/day but I wonder how often it would be useful over the Lightening Spiked Chain's ability to deal out a little damage to several baddies.
It is a bit weak on HP, but this isn't a fighter and the bloodcut armor should help some.
Thoughts???
