I actually tried the recipie for the awesomeness ... but sadly the filling is a bit runny. And overwhelmingly sweet. My friends and I could each make it through about 1/2 a sandwhich--which were increadibly messy and spewing their filling all over our fingers--cookie at a time. There had to be cookie breaks. -_-;;

I guess I was expecting something else. But hey, if you do just regular sized thumbprint cookies and then use the filling in that, then it's much better.

Once you make the cookies, let them set up in the fridge for 30 minutes. Not nearly as runny. :)

I tried that, all that happened was the filling ran out of the cookies and became a sticky ring around them.

Strange. I've made these twice so far and both times setting it in the fridge caused the filling not to run out as much.

Here's my entry for the best cookie recipe ever, with three different names:

Seattle Communion Wafers
or
Rabbit Punch Cookies
or
Caffeine Cookies

Recipe:
Use your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe (Olgar's, above, looks great). Reduce the flour by 1/4 cup. When beating the butter and eggs together, add 1/3 cup dry Turkish-ground coffee. Proceed with the rest of the recipe as normal. (Especially good if you make the chocolate-chip cookies with toasted hazelnuts or pecans).

Careful when eating them, though: the "Rabbit Punch Cookies" name is because if you eat too many, it's like a blow to the kidneys. These things pack a wallop.
