Best d20 Setting?

I find it interesting that 19 people voted for Forgotten Realms, but not a single person bothered replying as to why, or that they voted for it at all. Does voting for the FR automatically dub someone as a munchkin/WotC puppet? (And yes, I realize that you didn't have to list reasons as to your vote, but that is beside the point.)

Well, I voted for the FR...and I'm not even a fan of it. I just happen to recognize the fact that the FR is the most varied and detailed setting that is still produced today. And it certainly doesn't hurt having four d20 books about the FR -- all earning high marks in many gamers' minds.

My opinion as to the best setting that started with d20? Well, that is easy: the Scarred Lands.

And BTW: I don't honestly think that homebrew campaigns, or campaigns from other systems should have been an option -- as this is about d20 settings and no one is privy to your biased homebrew, while other systems simply don't count.

Wasn't they supposed to do something with one of the old/classic settings this year???

The reason why I picked FR as the "best" d20 setting is that quite frankly, I haven't seen anything that comes close to matching the quality of the output from the FR 3E line. From the FRCS to Magic of Faerun, the 3E FR setting has a very high quality level.

Well, I had to pick my homebrew, didn't I?

Until someone comes up with a campaign setting that includes dinosaurs, undead tyrants, flintlock pistols, ironclad airships, wild desert warriors, djinni, sprawling cities festering with intrigue, lesbian vampire sorceresses and red guys, I'll stick with Barsoom.

It's mine, and I love it that way.

I voted for the Forgotten Realms. I really enjoy the campaign setting. It is by far my favorite setting, and as Khan said, the Forgotten Realms material released thus far by WoTC has been superb.

FR best setting???? Hmmm.....

Well...as an old timer I have to vote for Greyhawk. But I must say that it bothers me a bit to hear that some people preffer the "Misbegotten Realms" because there's so much stuff out there for it. It kinda makes me jealous.

I think that if WoTC were to exploit the Greyhawk setting comercially as much as it has milked the "Realms" there would be alot more votes up there for it. The fact that it is supposed to be the default setting for 3e doesn't register on the radar screen for alot of new players...IMHO.

I must agree, however, that the FR setting book is a beautiful thing. I wish someone out there at WoTC would put the same kind of effort on a Greyhawk book...perhaps Erik Mona....(Erik: You have done a good thing with LGJ...but this is not enough...no offense. Thanks for keeping the spirit alive though...).
