I was going to just order that from the website until the calculated shipping (cheapest) was $11.82! Guess I'll check it out at GenCon.

I did vote none,

because in my opinion DnD isn't the best game for epic gaming.
I prevere much more the rules of Exalted for epic storries.
This system give me the feeling it was made for such games.

That the 3e Epic rules have only received 35% of the vote (at the time of this post) is, in my opinion, the most informative element of the poll. I too would prefer a non-rulechange approach to high levels, similar to that mentioned by Dyir. However, I also find higher than the 12-15 level range of play to be less "fun" than play at lower levels. The game just isn't designed for epic "roleplay" -- rather it is a combat-centric game that, at epic levels, becomes a game of "he who wins initiative wins".

I feel the question would be better served by "Epic rolepay in D&D? yes/no?" The way this question is formed, you are asking which they perfer. You will get much the same kind of response asking about editions of the game or other games. Just because someone likes Exalted better doesn't mean they don't play and like D&D.

there are many that do it well

Upper Krusts Immortals Handbook (along with the beastiary and all the rest) is the best for D20.

I think for non dnd play I still like the Amber Diceless system becasue I love the setting.

Arcana Evolved is also up thier as good for epic play as well but I think it needed to go beyond 25 but I like killing gods.

Some people like chocolate I like butter pecan.

AD&D's High Level Adventures was probably the best non-setting 2e book I owned. It had excellent advice on how to challenge high lvl players without making up creatures of ludicrous power; in many ways, I follow that book's advice to this day.

Thanks for reminding me of that Piratecat. I've misplaced mine over the years so now I am going to get a pdf version of it from RPGNOW. That was a great resource.

Oh, it was called DM's Option:High Level Campaigns. :)
