Best First Level Module for New Players

First Post
I am looking for some insight on the best low-level module for new players. I may be asked to run something on the side once in awhile for some new players who want to try D&D (though I may use C&C). I have run Keep on the Borderlands alot and want something else.

Edition does not matter, I can convert whatever. I have some ideas in my head what is out there but wanted to hear from others.

I want to run a module because of time constraints and if I get the basic ideas done for me then I can concentrate on making the other parts come alive for the players.

Thanks

If edition doesn't matter, I would say Keep on the Borderlands from 1st edition. (I believe that was 1st level). That was just a good adventure! Honestly, I haven't played any modules in 3rd edition (homebrew games only thus far), so I couldn't offer any suggestions there. I remember a few 2nd edition ones weren't bad, but their names elude me at the moment.

Esp if you're using C&C, I recommend strongly The Endless Tunnels of Enlandin, which you can download free from dragonsfoot.org - it's statted for OD&D but C&C conversion is a breeze.

"Gorgoldand's Gauntlet" by Johnathan Richards (author of the Challenge of Champions series and many Monster Hunter ecologies articles).

I'm pretty sure this is available free on the web too. At the very least I remember getting it on a CD with Dungeon Magazine. It also appeared in Dragon Annual #5.

Seconds for Gorgoldand's Gauntlet (if you want to do the whole adventure in 1 sitting) or physically connect Gorgoldand's Gauntlet and Sunless Citadel together if you're looking for 3 or 4 sittings.

Village of Hommlet, The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, The Lost City, Keep on the Borderlands, The Transmuter's Last Touch, The Sunless Citadel, The Legend of the Ripper.

Some are TSR, some are from Goodman Games, one is WotC.
