Best free email/gateway account?

I've had it up to HERE with yahoo. They won't let you block spam, and when the spammers are flooding your email inbox, they won't let you just cancel the email address and keep your gateway pages.

So, I've had it. I want to migrate to a new gateway page.

By gateway (I'm probably using the wrong term), I mean a page which has everything you could want on one page. For instance, on yahoo, I have:

1) Email/Address book
2) Calendar
3) Briefcase (for files online)
4) News (from many, many sources)
5) TV listings
6) Movie listings (including top ten and upcoming)
7) Maps
8) Bookmarks
9) Weather
10) Financial stuff (stock market, etc)
11) Comics

Even getting most of these would be enough.

Or should I just open a new Yahoo account and NOT open up the email account? After all, if I don't have a mailbox, they can't email me, right?

Much as I hate to mention it there is always Hotmail/Passport. You can set your account to accept only addresses in your address book. Good and bad, until you put their name on the list you can't get their mailings, so they can't just send you, oh say, their new e-mail addresses. But it does cut way down on the Spam. ( I really hope they can pass some meaningful anti-spam legislation in the next year or so, but I doubt it...)
