Personally, I'm against having my wizards make any magic item for themselves that they will not be keeping for their entire career -- so I have only made a few scrolls (and they are always "get out of dodge" spells) and have never made wands or staves. (In addition, I will usually take transference if the other PCs want items...)
I'd probably go with HHH (though I don't think you can cast the spell, yet). If you have a penchant for being captured, I'd make a bolt hole with a copy of my spellbooks.
