Best non-WotC Base Classes?

Unfettered and Magister from Arcana Evolved. The Unfettered is the best swashbuckling fighter class out there, and the magister is a great alternative to the Wizard.

Cheers

Unfettered seems to be a big winner, too.

Since no one ventured an answer, I'm guessing there is no 3rd-party equivalent to a Warlock. For those of us who don't know what book it is from, can anyone explain why the Warlock is so cool, and so popular among the WotC base classes?

You, too? Kewl! Hope you're not as nervous as I am. :o

Going back to your post, the major antagonists for the PCs are NPCs, not monsters. I plan to use non-core classes such as that Spellsage(?) from ToB:Bo9S (WotC); variant bard from Complete Book of Eldritch Might (Malhavoc); and the martial artist from Beyond the Monk (Goodman Games/Chainmail Bikini). Haven't decided yet what spell-caster to use. Any recommendations?
Again, I recommend a blue mage. You can customize his spell list however you like between encounters, which means you can challenge the PCs no matter what tactics they come up with. Encourage spell research on the part of the players, and they will hate him.

blue mage?

Blue mage? Never heard of them. Which supplement?

Netbook of Classes?

Just a question: anyone ever use something from the FanCC Netbook of Classes (I know, those are 3.0, but I'm sure the tweaks would be minor)? What did you think of them?

Netbook of Classes? Link?

Akashics skill in armours, shields and weapons doesnt seem to fit right with the rest of its abilities? (incl HD, good save, BAB)
