So perhaps I should've included all thirty-four races.

I didn't.

Maybe in a month or two someone better than me can do the same series of polls.

And they will be better and prettier than these ones.

Until then, I give you the third last in the series, the Tactical Warlord!

I don't think you needed to include all of the races, but excluding the only race with bonuses to the Tactical Warlord's primary and secondary stats is decidedly sub-par. Genasi should definitely be part of the poll.

You are a terrible person Kzach. I curse you.

I have voted for Deva, just to be a little bit different. In our current group, the taclord is a Deva, and decided to put his 18 in Int, leaving Str with a 15 I believe.

It's worked out pretty well so far, combined with our avenger's Oath transference mcjobby and his ancestral lineage, he can make sure Lead the attack lands, and each commander's strike on my barbarian is +5 damage (and adaptive strategem too)

Human, Half-Orc or Goliath.

Warlord powers attack with Strength, so you need a +2 Strength race there. Int gives extra benefits, but it doesn't need to be as high as Str.

Humans get the extra feat and defense bonus, so it's always a contender.
Half-Orcs have +2 Dex, allowing them to dump Dex and use the extra points to boost Int a point. They can charge farther, allowing the warlord to reach the opponent faster.
Goliaths have +2 Con, allowing them to keep Con at a minimum (their Fort is already high due to Str). Their racial power serves as a bit of self-buffing, and if they take the goliath racial Paragon Path, the extra reach puts more opponents within their melee reach (doubly so with a reach weapon).

Hmm, I don't even think the tactical warlord is the best of the best, so it's hard for me to give it a race. I guess Genasi get the stat bumps in the right places so I might vote for them if the option was available, but even then, I wouldn't be that enthusiastic about the vote. I'm looking at human, eladrin, tiefling, dragonborn, half-orc, and half-elf. Half-elves despite lacking the right stat bonuses, have good feats for the role, but they just make better inspiring warlords. Humans have the extra at-will and extra feat going for them, so they can focus on their role reasonably well. But I think I'll go with Eladrin. Fey Command, Tactical Inspiration, Fey Tactics, and Eladrin Soldier add nicely to the Warlord's arsenal.

Nifft wins the thread.

I'm playing a Eladrin Spiral Taclord now. Just hit 12th level. 20 INT, 16 STR . . . having your highest ability score in your attack score is NOT necessary.

Don't you have to worry about hitting first and the power of the effect later? If you're not hitting, then that 20 Int doesn't do you much good.

Or is there something I'm not seeing here?
