Best ways to drown your enemies? (Spellcasting or not)

I'm looking for fun ways to drown your enemies. A friend of mine said something about Create Water and using an Extended Hold spell to keep them in place long enough for them to drown...

Does anyone know the exact details, and what other whacky ways can you think of drowning your enemies? (Or other cool effects with lots of water)

Anything... a little less level than Sorc-spell level 9? (If at all possible, under 7 aswell, tho force cage us awesome.)

Are you trying to do this in combat, or just looking for creative ways to drown characters?

Resilient sphere is lower level than force cage (and smaller, so it's quicker/easier to fill), if that helps.

Also, for a trapped opponent holding his breath under water, summon water elementals to attack him; by RAW, a fighting character drowns MUCH faster than one just holding his breath.

For simply malignant purposes under controlled circumstances (read: "torture & execution"):
(1)unstopper a decanter of endless water in "stream" mode.
(2)apply sovereign glue to rim.
(3)press to victims lips to seal.
(4)watch water come flooding out nose until victim stops thrashing about.

Or just tie down enemy, and summon water elementals to sit on his face.

Be a strong character which does not need to breath (say, warforged barbarian?). Then grab him, drag him into a big body of water (river, lake, ocean, etc.)

Hold Person gives a new save each round to end it, your friend's idea isn't very practical. You'd do much better just using coup de grace. Or use CDG with nonlethal attacks to knock him out, and THEN put him in your overly elaborate easily escapable death situation.

If you insist on drowning...while he's paralyzed, one PC holds his jaw open, another pours water (large jug or decanter of endless water) forcefully down his throat.

As the Orc within posted and asked, I am particularly looking for ways via combat. Resiliant Sphere is a very neat idea; I was wondering about how long it would take to fill up the ForceCage, but with the Sphere I don't need to worry!

Resilient Sphere also doesn't work. Effects can't pass from one side of the sphere to the other. Once you trap someone inside, you can't create water inside of it without also being in there yourself.

"Nothing can pass through the sphere, inside or out, though the subject can breathe normally."

Most DMs interpret that to mean that you lose line of effect. If you don't rule so, Resilient Sphere becomes really abusive. Not just for this sort of trick, but also things like sphering yourself and then summoning a horde of allies each round.

Hehe, before I posted earlier, I was wondering about how to fill up a force cage or resilient sphere... unfortunately, it's not easy.

Even with a decanter of endless water in "geyser" mode (around 2.5 cu.ft. per round) it would take roughly 100 rounds to fill up a CL8 resilient sphere (approx 250 cu.ft.)-- which is longer than the resilient sphere lasts!

Without higher level magic (eg, time stop, summon Huge water elemental, gate to Plane of Water, etc), I can't think of a way to quickly fill up the sphere.

The fastest method would involve knocking a land or airborne creature into an already existing body of water, and then trapping them in a Resilent Sphere or Forcecage.
