Better part of gaming - during or after

It's all about the actual game for me. The sound of the dice, the look on the players' faces as they come to realizations, and the slow ripping sound of their character sheets afterward. ;)

and the lamentation of the women... you forgot the lamentation...

I love the morning of a game day similarly to they way I love Christmas Eve. Expectations are high, my fellow gamers are generally in a good or at least talkative mood, and I've scheduled things in the week so that I don't have a lot to do that morning. The actual sitting down with friends and gaming is fun, also, but kind of a letdown because then I know it's back to work the next day. :)

I understand what Quasqueton is talking about, and I do enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling of a well-done session, but whether playing or DMing the actual moment of a plan, tactic, even a skill selection comes to fruitition - that is the best moment for me.

Memories are good, but you can never quite capture the exact nuaces of quotes like "Your only follower is a popsicle!" after the fact.

The expectations and foreplay are better than the act itself, IMHO.

Ah, but The Quas is asking about the Gaming Afterglow. That euphoric state achieved through vigorous roleplaying where one kicks back, perhaps with a hot pocket, recounting the moments in hushed tones.
