D&D 5E Bigby Doesn't Call His Homeworld Oerth :)

Dragonhelm

Knight of Solamnia
Interesting thing I saw in the new giants book in chapter 2. Bigby doesn't refer to his homeworld as "Oerth." He refers to it as "Greyhawk."

I can only assume that he knows he's in a roleplaying game. :D

MarkB

Legend
It's fine, Bigby, a planar traveller, simply refers to it by the name it is commonly known by, not by it's formally correct name.

I don't tell people "I am from The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".
Yeah, and Greyhawk is at least somewhat familiar to many players. If he'd used the proper name, most people wouldn't have known what on Oerth he was talking about.

This. If we need an in-world explanation, we can assume it's a short-hand for "the world where you can find the multiverse-wide famous Free city of Greyhawk".
