Biggest gaming boards?

No, I'm not shopping for a place to replace ENworld, I just wanted some data:

what are the 5 biggest RPG-related game boards online?
Is RPG.net bigger than Enworld or vice-versa?
Is the Wizards board bigger than either?

Other than Enworld, RPGnet, and the Forge what other "general RPG" boards (ie. not tied to a specific company or game) are out there?

I have absolutely no idea which of those is the biggest but at a guess I'd say ENWorld. Every major publisher posts here, and there are loads of members, plus I think the average number of posts is probably about a thousand, there are so many huge posters about.

GameWyrd is another big site, I think, and D&D Online Games is pretty huge too.

I think someone, (BrooklynKnight?) posted some statistics in the off-topic forum. EZboard keeps tracks of statistics, and you can see the sizes there. From what I remember, rpg.net was way bigger than ENworld, and Wizards.com dwarfed both of them.

I can only guess but ENWorld has to be bigger. This has material for D&D as well as other games. I suspect there may be people here who don't like D&D but enjoy discussions on a variety of other d20 games. Then, there are people like diaglo who don't even like d20. ;)

Also depends on what you mean by bigger. Would be interesting to keep track of the number of new posts at each for a couple of weeks and calculate average posts per day (that would measure use). Measuring number of registered users probably isn't very reliable (we have a huge number but I think we're safe in saying only a fraction of that would be considered regular users). Visits would be a good measure if we could get that data -- would measure a different kind of use (viewing as opposed to posting).

WotC is vastly bigger than EN World or RPG.net (remember it has massive Pokemon and MtG boards).

RPG.net has quite a few more posts/threads than EN World. EN World has a lot more members (RPG.net has 16984 right now, while we have 26407) and more people online at any given time (at this moment, RPGnet has 428 users online, we have 859 and WotC has 952).

Remember that boards often get pruned, too, so the boards which have had a more recent prune will appear smaller than those which haven't. I don't know when WotC or RPG.net were pruned, but our last prune was in May 2004.

All three boards use the same software, so the stats you're after are visible on each board (umber of posts, members, members online). So you can choose which measure of size you prefer, and you'll get a different answer depending on your choice.

WotC includes the card games too.

but yeah... they have between 5 and 6 times the number of registered users than ENwurld.

ENWurld and rpg.net are about break even in number of users.

and the EZ boards have tons of small to medium size groups.

i'm on about 15 or so sites at any given time. ;)

edit: Darn you, Bargle Russ... got me while i was typing...

This is a list of rpg.boards sorted by number of posts made last week (only). Not all of the boards there are rpg-only, though.
