Black Spine, Red Blood: A Dark Sun 3.5 Campaign

Tailspinner, if you were still willing to be the magic item crafter, could we assume you've made an Amulet of Wisdom +2 for Garak? I'll pay the ceramics, obviously, if the XP are not a problem for you.

If I'm too late to be doing equipment modifications, Paxus, say so and I'll let it go. I haven't been getting email notifications from these threads for some reason, and I'd assumed that the game had ground to a halt while Jarval was away.

Actually, the lack of e-mail notification is because they stopped doing e-mail notifications, if I recall. The game continues, albeit slowly.

Nevertheless, as no combat has occurred, I will allow EQ modifications.

That's fine. I'll remove the 160xp from my character.

Thanks, Paxus and Tailspinner.

Garak's Rogues Gallery has been updated with his equipment and with a typical spell load. The main equipment changes are dropping the Incense of Meditation and replacing it with the Periapt of Wisdom +2 and a selection of potions and (hideously expensive!) material components.

Everyone can now add to their equipment list a 50cp ring (non-magical, used as a focus for Shield Other). Also, can I suggest everyone chip in 833 1/3 cp for diamonds, as a material component for Raise Dead? The 5000cp is a bit much for my budget, but spread over the group it's not so bad. It might be worth everyone dumping a potion or two for, at least...

Edit: Paxus, instead of having the fiendish and celestial templates on creatures listed as Summon Monster options in Terrors of Athas, I would like to use the Earth Element Creature template from Manual of the Planes. Seems appropriate for an Earth cleric, after all. Is this ok with you? I'd be happy to do up stat blocks for them, before I use them.

Okay I am going to take Nibenay as one of my languages and Literacy: Commen (Slaver) as two. This leaves two more slots open.

Since I really don't know the region what are the largest groups of other races around here? What are the 'closest' other regions? Come on guys throw me a friggin bone here...

As for freeing up moneis, I can free up either 400ish, 900, or 4,500 depending on what is needed/required, and what the consensus of the group is.

Also has anyone PMed Wynter Wolf to see what the hold up is on his end as far as getting into the game is?

Praxus: I have seen in different campiagns manifestations displays done differently. In some games it is a momentary thing not lasting out the round, unless specifically described otherwise (My Lights being a prime example). In others the display remains for the powers duration, unless otherwise described in the powers description.

My question: How are you doing displays in your game?

It will affect certain things.

Paxus: not sure if you saw my late edit to my last post re: summoned creatures. To repeat, just in case...

Instead of having the fiendish and celestial templates on creatures listed as Summon Monster options in Terrors of Athas, I would like to use the Earth Element Creature template from Manual of the Planes. Seems appropriate for an Earth cleric, after all. Is this ok with you? I'd be happy to do up stat blocks for them, before I use them. Unearthed Arcana's modified summoning rules treat the elemental creature templates as equivalent to the fiendish and celestial templates for the purpose of Summon Monster spells, and the CRs of the resulting creatures won't be any different.

That's actually preferable; since there's no access to the Outer Planes on Athas, it would be interesting to explain how fiendish or celestial creatures got there. Are you using the list from Terrors of Athas? If not, you should; it's on the same site the core book was.

Yep, Terrors of Athas. Other than the doubtful summoning lists, it seems a pretty solid work. It's only in beta, of course.

There's one or two creatures on the list from Terrors of the Dead Lands, too. So in case you can't find something I summon, it might be worth a look in there...
