Ristu would be the logical choice, but Tailspinner doesn't see to be around a lot, so Grykee might be the best option. She's probably a tad more assertive than Ristu personality-wise, as well...

* * *

Garak agrees with Arriha going off to find the woodcutters, but still believes that it would be safer for Ristu to go as well, wildshaped into some flying creature. As a precaution, he casts Imbue with Spell Ability on Arriha, transferring Animal Messenger, Hold Person and Bless. Before she leaves, he will cast Status, including Arriha, Ristu and Uden in the spell's effect.

"If you get in trouble, send a messenger creature back here so we can help. These spells will help protect you and the woodcutters in the meantime."

OOC: I have changed Garak's Rogue's Gallery entry to reflect his changed spell selection for today.

Due to study and work commitments, I'm going to be away from EN World from the 27th of July until the 5th of August. Check out this thread for more details.

Sorry for any problems this might cause :(

Sorry I've been AFK the last two weeks. I've been dreadfully ill, but still going to work. So most days I just crawl straight into bed as soon as I get home.

But I've finally kicked it and feeling up to staying awake long enough to post.

Anyway. I think Garak would be a better Leader. Grykee is too unstable, flighty, greedy, dishonest, and frankly Evil to be a leader of a party that includes Good aligned characters.

However she will likely leap up and at a moments notice assume Vocal Command (ie: 'face duties').

Ideally she'll drag Garak along to overhear any negotiations on behalf of the party.

Ristu would be the Moral Compass choice for most everyone else, but Grykee is too selfish to want to follow her. Ursus would be a good second choice after Garak.

I place Arriha and Uden in the same category as Grykee for Leadership potential. It could happen, but I just don't see it as a good idea.

Anyhow I am off to post something in IC Thread.

Paxus:

How subtle can Dominate be?

Can it be subtle enough that the victim might think they are taking certain actions themselves?

I know I can brute force the Gith into simply not telling, suggesting, or in anyway imparting to others the idea that they are Dominated. However can it be weilded deftly enough to keep them from knowing it is ongoing?

I am still working on exactly what memories to leave them with, and knowing whether Greater Dominate can be a velvet glove or if it is always a steel gauntlet will shape my plans.

It takes subtlety on the part of a mindbender to make a domination effect look natural to outside observers; the victim will always know they are dominated, as they hear mental commands which originate from some other source. Only someone completely unfamiliar with the supernatural, and unwilling to accept the possibility, could mistake it for anything other than outside control. Suggestions and Charms are the way for subtle work.

Thats about what I thought. I'll work on making the victims actions appear as natural as possible (to Grykee's limited ability once they are out of eyesight), hence the more indepth interviews.

I have seen Dominate run as a subtle power before, so I thought it best to make sure we are on the same page.

Can I stress just how bad an idea it would be to make Uden the party leader? His heart's in the right place, but he's not one for forwards thinking... :)
