If I was going to change it myself I'd give it a range of touch. I just want to be able to cast it on allies during combat. anything more and it becomes too useful I think. Even the two synergies of EK and Sorc seem very good. Things I hadn't considered, but that a touch range wouldn't disrupt too much more.

I think Blade Ward is good right now. If I made changes, it would be to add some bonuses for the abjurer wizard subtype and Blade Ward.
