Blindness

I need help with a ruling. When a character is blind, they recieve a -2 to attack rolls, however to hit an invisible creature you get a -5. Wouldn't being blind effectively leave all others invisible?

Some one please help clear these status changes up for me as it is driving my play group crazy, lol. Thanks.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, the -5 to invisible opponents only applies to melee and ranged attacks- so when using a melee or ranged attack while blind, you'd suffer a -5, but if using a burst or blast, you'd only suffer a -2.

Where are you getting -2 from? When you are blinded your targets have Total Concealment and that is a -5.
I don't know where the -2 is coming from, either.

Total Concealment gives you -5 to-hit on melee and ranged attacks. I didn't think there was a penalty for area or close attacks.

-O

I see, i think i may have misunderstood then.

So to clarify, when a creature is blind, he takes a -5 to attacks on all creatures.

While a creature with Invis, gets a "+5 to all defenses" from all creatures that cant see it?

And when a creature is invisible, IF its opponents can figure out what square to attack, then those opponents have a -5 to attack it.

Awesome, I uderstand it now. Thank you everyone.

On a side note, if an enemy is blind AND I'm invis, do the negatives stack? Would the blinded enemy get a -10 to attack or does it remain at -5?

Both of them grant Total Concealment, so the net effect is only -5.
