It's getting there.

Please put this product up in the reviews section. I have a review for this completed and waiting for posting.

Thanks
I would...but I can't for the life of me find the "add product" link anywhere on the RPGObjects page. I'm just the author, so maybe it won't allow me to do that?

In the mean time, may I recommend reviewing it at RPGNow?

Additionally, let me know if there's any other questions you might have. Always happy to chat about the material. :)

Well, I don't know if the EN World reviews page would be a link on RPGObject page. I will copy my review there as well. Maybe we should page Mr Davis for help in getting it set up on this review site. :)

In case you were wondering, the review is very good and I am extremely happy with my purchase. So if you're on the fence about this and are waiting for a review, here's a good recommendation before it gets put up.

You're right, it's certainly not a direct link (I think you meant RPGNow vs. RPGObjects). I've asked RPGObjects to enter it the product...apparently I can no longer do it. The system is tied specifically to publisher accounts, whereas before anyone could submit a product.

I knew I'd get a fair review when you asked legitimate questions about the book as a long term campaign. Please let me know if there's any other questions you might have. You brought up points I hadn't thought of before.

I have high hopes for this book...I used what learned from Blood & Brains and Blood & Spooks. I even did some of the art! :)

P.S. I'm working on a supporting web site that will contain the "Top Ten Most Wanted Slashers"...hope to have it up soon.

I picked this up on a whim tonight and it seems pretty neat and certainly looks like a lot of fun. The question is how do you keep a campaign going? Sure, one bad guy lasts a few sessions, but really...how many evil demonic slashers are there running around the suburbs these days? After fighting a few of them, what keeps the fear and horror in check if it's the same old "kill the undead serial killer" week after week?

For the second question, I pretty much echo the sentiment that you just have the slashers be fundamentally different. A pumpkin demon is very different from a dream slasher, for example.

In terms of the first question...the way I'd have it would be to have multiple slashers working together from the beginning. That way, the PC's already have a group of villains to fight. The trick to this is two-fold: 1) Letting the PC's know (eventually) that they're facing more than one villain in the campaign...without giving away who or what the others are, and 2) Justifying why homicidal psychopaths would work together.

Basically, imagine what would have happened if Freddy and Jason were working together instead of against each other. Then throw in Michael Myers, maybe Chucky, Pinhead, and you can see where something like that would lead...

Hey Alzrius! I'm going to Gen Con this year again and I'll even be at the ENnies! You going?

Anyway, I think everything Alzrius said is dead on. One other thing: because there are several templates, you could run an entire campaign around the templates themselves.

One example is the Arawnite Guardian advanced class and the Shape template. The two go together (the Arawnite Guardians watch over their chosen Shape), so you could easily have a world wide cult of Arawnites who seek to bring about the end of the world by implanting the Seed of Arawn in different children. One Shape might be a stay-at-home dad, a CEO, a little boy that's always picked on at school, or a tough-as-nails Marine. Dealing with the repercussions of these "normal people turned killers" and how it affects the lives around them might prove rather sticky...
