I decided to go for the print copy and found that my FLGS hasn't got it yet... but having made that decision I've decided to stick it out and see if it comes in next Thursday.

Very disappointing, but my FLGS hasn't managed to get it in. They've been trying for a month for me now, but apparently the local distributor hasn't got it either (We're talking London UK here).

So I may just go for the PDF version. One question - does the PDF include an inkjet-friendly version as well as the full-on-graphics version?

Cheers

Chuck-

How well would BnF work into a campaign where the damage was a bit tweaked? For example, in current d20 modern you've got that knockout feat but otherwise non-lethal damage doesn't add up. I'm thinking about having modern's mass damage threshold, with hps, but also like normal Dnd have your hitpoints equal an amount of non-lethal damage you could take. I'm just not a fan of the unarmed people beating on each other forever. That and I'd like something besides knockout punch to allow for the movie club to the back of the head.

Ok, that was an odd question, but anyways, here's the other one. For these classes that are listed in the review, the brawler, the mystic, and martial arts master, are these advanced classes?

Thanks,

Tellerve

If you're asking would BNF work with subdual damage, my answer would be absolutely.

However, there are some feats in BNF that might alleve your current nonlethal damage angst (I dont like it much either). There are feats in BNF that inflict nonlethal damage (with the potential for knockout) and normal damage as well, which my players find much more satisfying- they dont usually get the knockout, but they still hurt the guy.

As a boxer (the only martial art I have really practiced) this is more realistic to me. When I get hit with an uppercut, I am not knocked cold often. However, it ALWAYS hurts.

Lastly, Advanced Classes :)

The system is designed so that you could use it without the classes at all, using the standard martial artist, however, the classes in BNF compliment its system and they work well together.

Ooh fast reply, thanks. Ok, another question, about the feats. Are these just tons of feats to do a "certain" attack. Or are they some derivation of -2 +1d6dmg, like a Double tap? And if they are to do a certain martial art move, do the advanced classes get tons of feats to allow them to get all the proper moves of an art?

Thanks,

Tellerve

Each martial art style has its own mastery list and bonus feat list.

So the Martial Arts Master is a completely different class for each style. A kung fu Master would have different talents and bonus feats than a Savate Master, for example.

The feats are broken down into styles, maneuvers, and signature maneuvers.

Styles grant new class skills and sometimes change the ability that modifies an attack. Savate attacks are modified by Dexterity, for example.

Maneuvers grant increased attack or damage bonuses based on the maneuver. Some have other effects.

A Leg Sweep does kick damage, and forces a save to avoid being knocked prone.

Signature Manevuers are flashy moves, unique to a style, and are generally fictional.

Anyone interested in the School of Hard Knocks should check out www.nononsenseselfdefense.com.

A very interesting collection of writings by a streetfighter/philosopher. Good material for a high Wisdom "School of Hard Knocks Master"...a man with more common sense, insight, and experience than a whole temple of Shaolin.

Just add a picture of Sam Elliot from "Roadhouse" and you've got a unconventional Wise Old Grandmaster.

Just asking again in case you missed it the first time... inkjet friendly version?
