Blood Sacrifice resources?

I am trying to model some evil sorcerers who gain magical power by blood sacrifice. Both Spells & Magic and Relics & Rituals' blood mage/witch have such abilities, but the current villain needs to be in the 8th level or less range. Any know of any resources out there for anything like this?

The Book of Vile Darkness (p.26-28) has some rules on sacrifices and magical powers that can be gained through them. The process is based on Knowledge: Religion checks with various modifiers, but I tend to allow Knowledge: Arcana to be used as well for arcane casters; one just needs to tweak some of the granted rewards based on what type of being the sacrifices are being made to. I visualize it as arcane casters beseeching infernal powers for rewards. Hmmm, Knowledge: Planes might come in handy there as well.

Yeah, I know about those, but I was looking for something that more powered the spells like the blood mage and blood witch did, vice granting general boons.

Though the BoVD version does grant xp which I could use in item creation, and perhaps they make tainted object from them.

Hong: Thanks. Had considered the maho route, but thought that the feel might be a bit too specific. I'll take another look.

Edit: Looking at your mod, it looks pretty close to exactly what I am looking for. The entry level is priced right (5th, gives me room for a few levels before 8th) and it doesn't have the rather specific-feel of the maho "corruption" that I was concerned about.

I forget what the entry requirements are for the Tome and Blood blood mage style prestige class but that would be another option.

Embermages from BoEM I and CBoEM also uses their own blood to power their magic. Again, not sure of the requirements off the top of my head.

Going completely off the wall here, but the Palladium system has a mechanic for that. It is a spell point system, to start with.

Each person has a specific amount of spell points, (called PPE, IIRC), which most don't ever learn to use specifically, save for spellcasters.

At the moment of death, that PPE is doubled, then released, and can be used to power spells, create items, recharge your personal power, and so on.

Children have lots more than most adults, who tend to burn some of their magical potential and convert it into talent and skills and such, around puberty.

Thus, sacrifices can gain you power, and sacrificing children more power. Of course, sacrificing sentient beings, particularly innocent childrens, is an EVIL act, with all caps, but some people will go there for the power it brings.

Not very useful without a lot of conversion work, but there it is.

Sorry I wasn't too clear in my first post, but what I was looking for is a class that uses the blood of others in their magic. The two classes I listed in my first post can use their own blood at fairly low levels, but can't use the blood of others until fairly high levels.
