Blood-Spray Bite vs Latch On

Hi all,

I might be playing a 12th level Predator Druid and am trying to decide between either Blood-Spray Bite or Latch On. Which one would you recommend?

Thanks,

I prefer Blood-Spray Bite in a vacuum, but really it depends on what else you're doing with the character, and what your portion of the party's tactics will entail. BSB helps you group enemies for AoE's (yours or someone else's), force enemies over to your defender and away from any squishy types, and is useful if someone in your party relies on positioning for extra benefits. Latch On is nice single target control against artillery, some lurkers and controllers, and the occasional skirmisher, but weak against soldiers, brutes, and enemies who are fine with standing still in melee combat.

My one concern with Latch On is that the modifier is only -4. Will that make much difference on 12th lvl encounters? I ask because I've only played low level characters before.

Well, if your Dex is only 18-19 at level 12, I'd recommend Blood-Spray Bite. But I'd also wonder why your Dex wasn't at least 20; to have a reasonable AC, you really want to start with a 16-18 Dex and boost it at every level.
