Bloodbowl advice

darjr

I crit!
A friend of mine has a hoard of warhammer miniatures and several teams of Bloodbowl miniatures that he just up and gave me. I dunno what to say to him cept thanks! And I'm gonna buy him lots and lots of his gaming meals.

Anybody play Bloodbowl? I've got Elves, Orcs and Chaos. Does it play more like rugby or american soccer or american football? Or nothing like any of them.

I play bloodbowl in an loosely organized league. It's great fun but it doesn't play like any real life sport. The similarities with gridiron are superficial and when you tackle\block\blitz your opponent, you aim to hit them so hard that they will die.

I would suggest learning the game with your Orc team and going from there.

You definitely need a board (though there are some alternatives available).

I'm reasonably sure, that there are printable boards available somewhere on the web; can't point you to one, however.

Just google around a bit. There are tons of blood bowl fansites. :D

The board hasn't changed since 2nd edition (from the layout), AFAIK.
The "current" board is exactly the same as in 3rd edition.

Thanks!

I did find the dice, actually I'll have to ask him about those... he may want them.

My google foo was failing me big time.

I should mention, if you print out the original pitch, at the bottom where it says "knock out" and stuff needs to be cut out separately and placed at either side of the table.

They are your dugouts.
