Bone Trolls appear as 10’ tall humanoids with gaunt, emaciated features. Their skin is stretched tight over withered, leathery flesh, giving the troll the appearance of being dead. They have grayish/bluish hair that is greasy, thick, and long. Their eyes are sunken pits of blackness in a dessicated wreck of a face. They have long, crooked teeth and sharp nails that form uneven claws. Bony hooks, some nearly a foot long, protrude from its dry skin all over the creature’s body.

In combat, Bone Trolls are fearless, rushing forward to attempt to impale creatures on their hooks, then leisurely clawing them to pieces.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, the troll must hit a creature at least one size category smaller with both claws. If it gets a hold, the troll can attempt to Impale.

Impale (Ex): A successful grapple check allows the Bone Troll to impale a held creature on its bony hooks. This inflicts an additional 2d6 points of damage. Furthermore, the Bone Troll gains a +4 circumstance bonus on any grapple checks made against an Impaled victim. The Bone Troll’s normal grapple check is at +15. Against an Impaled opponent, this jumps to +19. An Impaled creature who frees himself from the troll’s bone hooks suffers a further 2d6 points of damage unless attended by someone who successfully uses Healing to free him (DC 16).

Withered Flesh (Ex): The flesh of a Bone Troll is withered in appearance and is hard and leathery. This provides the troll with excellent protection from blunt attacks. Any attack from a blunt weapon inflicts only one-half damage.

Regenerate (Ex): Bone Trolls regenerate at the rate of 6 HP per round. Fire and Holy damage inflict normal damage on a Bone Troll and cannot be regenerated. All other damage is treated as subdual damage.

Why thank you! I hope to spring a few of these on my party as they make the perilous journey across the Wasted Lands. Unfortunately, it won't be for a couple of months yet. If you should happen to use them in your campaign, please post the results here. I'd love to hear how they work. :)

Were exactly do you keep crud......? Don't answer.

I'm going to be making a "Terry pratchett" Troll soon....

LOL, where can't you keep it? It grows on trees and can be used to um..... what are we talking about again?

A Terry Pratchett Troll? I want a set of "Tellatubbies" for a group of Monsters soon that will drive anyone insane.

The only prob I see with it is a minor "typo". You forgot to add its bonus hp from Toughness to its listing for bonus hp. I see you added them to the total, but it should be "6d8+39 (66 hp)"

Other than that....nice monster.

Doh! I never was sure whether the HP from toughness should be reflected in the HD or not. Thanks for clearing that up, and thanks for taking the time to look this over!
