Bonus spells from magic Wis

If my cleric casts Owls Wisdom spell just before he rests/prays for spells does he get the bonus spells from his "higher" Wis ??

His wisdom is high for the entire time of the rest/praying.

What if he casts and extended Owls Wisdom that lasts almost 24 hours?

It is kind of cheesy from a roleplaying sense, but it was nice having a couple of extra spells the day of a big fight.

No. The spell description in T&B is quite clear on this. You gain no extra spells using this spell. Your wisdom skills increase and your spell DC's increase, but you gain no new spells.

One might allow it if the Owl's Wisdom last less than 24 hours. I would personally tend to run it just like I would an item that gave a bonus to intelligence, wisdom, or charisma. It would have to last through the rest and spell preparation period. And, after that time, when the Owl's Wisdom ran out, the extra spells would be lost. *Poof*

Even if you extended it over several days, it wouldn't work. The spell description specifically states that it cannot grant extra spells per day.

Well, that's what I get for guessing when I don't have the spell text handy. I stand corrected.

That is totally correct! However, I do allow it if as I said before the duration is longer than 24 hours.

It should be noted that in R&R there are different versions of these spells. THe R&R versions allow bonus spells to be gained, but the spell can only be cast on a particuliar individual once a week. So, you need to wait seven days before you can use it agian.
