The Book of the Righteous

I got this gem the other day after reading a sample chapter found on Green Ronin’s web site. When the Arron Loeb posted some errata here, I asked if they would consider allowing other companies to use the book as their core mythology.

Having read more than the sample chapter I am even more blown away by this astounding piece of mythology. I have always hated the ‘D&D myth’ – demons and devils, genies, angels, gods, elemental lords, ad nauseum. Arron has turned it all into a coherent myth that feels like it could be real. My homebrew myth appears anemic (if I can steal from SHARK) beside this vibrant story.

Do other people feel that there would be a benefit if other d20 companies used the mythology set fourth in Book of the Righteous?

Yes, I would very much like to see TBotR used as thew core gods in a published setting or referred to in other books. I don't think I can stress enough how much I would like this.

Heck, yeah!

I'm one of those poeple who doesn't like the mix-n-match style that is D&D default. Too many powerful beings, too many sources of magic, too many different outerplanar things. I like a simpler, more cohesive approach to it all.

As long as it doesn't affect my gods, I'm happy with you guys changing stuff up for the new core gods. :)

Sorry, Nightfall. But the Righteous Gestapo will of course be confiscating your copy of The Divine and the Defeated. No competing theologies will be permitted. :p

My gods (BotR) can beat up your gods (Divine and Defeated). :D

BotR does not fit the Scarred Lands very well. SL is just to differenet a campagin world from the type BotR was created for.

Sure Crothy... You keep thinking that. :p ;)

And the first guy that touches my copy of Div&Def will find themselves on the wrong end of Vangal's battle-axes. (Not that he's got a right end but you get the idea! ;) )
