D&D 5E Book With Page Falling Out

Legend
The pages in my MM are falling out. I know this has been common with 5E books and WoTC has been good about it so I am just wondering if it is worth a shot contacting them and how do you do that?

Zardnaar: WotC is more than happy to replace faulty books. However, you have to pay to ship it to them, and then they will "reimburse" you the cost of the shipping by including miscellaneous goods along with the replacement book. That's what I was told when I inquired about getting a replacement for my PHB.

So it really comes down to a cost thing. It's not going to be cheap to ship a hardback book across the Pacific, and the stuff you'll get in return will probably be crap.

I buy all my 5e books from the Book Depository, so I contacted them instead and they gave me some of my money back. In the meantime, a dab of glue here and there has kept my PHB together just fine. Eventually I'll replace it with a new one, but only when I can be absolutely sure that the new one is up-to-date with all the errata and such in it.

I've had two Player's Handbooks and a Monster Manual fall apart so far. I sent one of the Player's Handbooks to them and they replaced it. Unfortunately, it took about five weeks to get the replacement. I would suggest getting a number from support, so UPs will pick the book up, then you won't need to pay for shipping. I've heard that they'll give you a gift certificate if you pay for shipping to WOTC, but from what I hear, the amount doesn't square with what you'll pay to ship it to WOTC.

My Monster Manual started falling apart, last session. I'm not sure the thing has ever actually left my house, since I host the game. I just need to decide whether I'd rather drop $30 on Amazon or wait 5 weeks for a replacement.

You can also do what i do with my first PHB that started coming un glued I cut out all the pages and put them in a binder in sleeves. I bought a 2nd one need two anyways and the binder is my prefered one to use at the table. I can even pull out a page if I want to keep near me

I returned my PHB to WotC. Using the Customer Service link above report a defective book. They scheduled a FedEx (or UPS?) pick up of my old book and sent me a new one; no questions asked, no cash out of my pocket. Whole process took maybe a week?

My MM is in the same sad shape now, but I haven't been willing to be without it for a week. Probably will send it back in November when I know I'm going to have a gaming break.

I'm glad mine have held up. I bought all 3 core books on the early preferred stores release dates, and mine are all still going strong.

Zardnaar, did you purchase this particular MM around release time? I'm curious if they'll still do replacements this long after buying one.

Yeah September 2014.

2 years old but my 20+ year old 2E one is holding up fine along with my 3E stuff. And my 1E stuff I bought off others is also fine but the early 1E stuff is semi indestructible anyway as opposed to mid 80's onward.

Might just buy a new one and send the old one in. There is a NZ number to ring so I will try that 1st and see what they say.

I had 3 books with problems. I contacted customer support with pictures of the problems and they sent me replacement books express shipping.

I live in Canada and the process only took a week or two.

As much as a love a good looking game book, I actually think hey are more useful once you rip them out of the binding and put them in a three ring binder. That's my plan if mine ever fall apart. After I scan all the pages to PDF that is.
