What are your thoughts on the article, Water Bob?

Light read. It seems to indicate that original players are now making the game a family event. And,the game is pushing slightly more into the mainstream with celebrities playing and people playing who probably would not have in the past due to the popularity of fantasy right now.

But we already know that many of the old players now got children (and some already have grandchildren) that they introduce to roleplaying, here's one:
My Son's First PC Death (handled it pretty well)

And we already know that old players are coming back to 5E because of the Old School feel, here's one:
5E has brought this old gamer back to D&D after 8 years!

And of course many of todays celebrities played RPGs as kids. RPGs was really big in the eighties so many of todays grown ups are old RPG:ers, including celebrities.
Here's one in Zak S' signature

My conclusion:
Due to the popularity of DnD in the eighties and the Old School feel of 5E, many outside todays hobby are coming back due to childhood memories.
And the whole point that journalists write about celebrities playing RPGs isn't that the celebrities are playing, but that the journalists themselves are old RPG:ers. Do you really think that that journalists would write about such nerdities otherwise? :)
