D&D 5E Bounded Accuracy and Magic Item Scarcity

My DM also makes fairly unique items. One greatsword has +2 str, something else I don't remember, and causes vulnerability to poison. Most of his items are like that. Some interesting and potentially powerful effects but with a drawback too. There's no need for the + to hit and the weapon is still an interesting item that also increases an items power but doesn't affect bounded accuracy.

quick off the top of my head ideas
warhammer that adds thunder damage and can do thunderwave once per rest but the wielder has disadvantage on perception checks related to hearing.
A shield that can cast the shield spell once per day but makes the wielder's eyes glow red.
A ring that gives advantage on one save per day but the weilder hair is always moving around like it's blowing in the wind.
