Boundless Endurance - Seeking Clarification

Once you get up to around the 10th-level mark where you can't be killed in a round, then I can see Boundless Endurance maybe being ok.

But even then, hovering around the bloodied mark is just DUMB as a defender. If you can do that, then your DM isn't challenging you properly. A defender can be taken down very quickly and needs constant healing from the rest of the party and his own abilities to remain ABOVE bloodied. And that remains true at any level.

And of course, once you get up to around 20th-level, the piddly amount of healing you get from it just isn't worth it. No Opening is a far better utility, and if you're looking for extra hit points, Unstoppable is, again, a far better choice.

I'm inclined to agree that being KOed would end the stance, but I'm not sure if being unconscious for 5 minutes counts as a short rest.
Only if it's restful ;) But yeah, technically, if the character stayed unconscious uninterrupted for 5 minutes, I think, it would count as a short rest.

Other utilities in a normal combat are better... but they won't be game changing.

In really dire situation Boundless Endurance might be what keeps a lonely fighter going after the group has dropped and is dying. Its very risky... but dying is more.
