[BoVD, BoEF, Vile] Where do you say "unacceptable?"

I'm willing to use just about any of those. About the only control (if you will) I would put on them is the level of description, and the 'quantity' of such acts ingame. I would also never use any of them simply because I can; there would always be a reason for it.

But for the most part, the only thing different from 'violence' and 'rape/torture/etc' is the amount of detail. The odds of a PC walking on on the normally kind and benevolent Lord - who happens to have a taste for the younger members of his household - in the middle of some kind of (sexual/torture/etc) act is very slim; it would only come up if the 'punch' from such a situation was deemed necessary (for whatever reason). Such people would have their acts alluded to, again, with varying 'severity'; perhaps gossip, if players seem uneasy about the matter, or perhaps the seey him coming out of someone's room and hear the sounds of crying, if they can handle 'stronger' stuff.

On the other hand, players can expect to know what happens to a brigand when Korgar the Barbarian crits with his greatsword, or the scene of the aftermath of a devistating battle, or so forth. Violence doesn't seem to be a big deal in my group, so gore is likely, and indeed, almost guaranteed.

Basically, the most sensitive it tends to be, the less likely it will come up with any detail, if at all.

Hey to the guy that started this ... does you play with kid? for if anyone got offended with what would happen in a game well I would kick him out of the house.

The worst is that nudity is less seen in the game than violence/torture/mutilation... Am I too crazy?

Why would pretty hero that save the world never had sex? What happen if that game is in Ravenloft... or in my world :)

Nudity. Oh the horror. You can be sure people are never going to be nude in game. In fact, they are never, as they never say they wash themselves. Anyway, if they would, they would wash while fully clothed. Under a burqa, preferably. And they are created adult, since they're characters rather than persons, so they aren't born. But if they were to birth, they would birth fully clothed. Nudity is evil. Beside, human beings are already ugly enough when clothed, when naked it's worse.

Nah, actually, I don't care. I don't usually force PCs to become naked, but it may happen (like when one got roasted by a red dragon's breath... Don't see why the clothings would have survived... Of course one may argue that the corpses wasn't really nude, since it was still wrapped with flames...). In campaigns where I play, that has also happened several times. One during a cleansing ritual to get rid of mummy rot, my PC had to walk into a magical purifying fire. Later was captured by Hated Villain #3, who thought prisoners were less dangerous when naked, crucified, and immersed in sea water, trailing behind the boat. Another character, after dying, victim of a natural 1 on a slay living trap, was revived through reincarnation. The spell creates a new young adult body of a random race, but don't really create clothing to go with it.

Sex ? No problems. It seldom occurs, actually, but I don't care really. It may even be graphic, if needs be, such as explaining why the character don't risk getting pregnant despite an active sexuality, as long as it's not pornographic.

Torture ? It happens. Rape ? Same thing. Beastiality ? Ditto. Child molestation ? Again. D&D is full of "always evil" and "usually evil" creatures, while humans are dubbed "usually neutral", animals and vermins are "always neutral", and we have no sentient plants or rocks. What this mean is that in D&D worlds, there are creatures that are even worse than humans.

Any immorality human may conceive would seem just petty to some of these horrible creatures.

Now as a DM I may just say "they are wicked icky-bad nasties, it's your duty as the champion of light to thwart their foul plans by breaking into their home and crushing their skulls repeatedly until the walls are red", or I may actually give hints about how they are evil. There was an ogre-mage gourmet that ate the souls as well as the flesh of his victims (and used their memories and inspiration to write play, as he was also a dramaturge, forcing his slaves to perform his plays). There is a decadent aristocracy that just "want to find new way to entertain themselves" and that consider every one else is just cattle or game. There are power-hungry necromancers thinking dead people are easier to administrate than living ones. There are totally sick guys. There are maffias, there are racial suprematist groups, there are serial killers, there are assassin sects, there are lots of awful persons around... And that's just among the humanoids. There are also evil undead, outsiders, magical beasts, dragons...

Of course, since my players are both jaded and frustrating (they just can't understand it's better to come before the sun has set), the most awful depiction of the foulest deed ever would only result in:
"*yawn* Oh, it's probably horrible. One day, we should deal with these dudes. *yawn* What was happening, anyway ? 'Scuse me, I'll go make some tea. *yawn* What about we stop there ? I'm tired. ZZZzzzzz..."
Anything result in that.

NUDITY IN MY GAMES: When it comes down to IC nudity theres never any description. When it has happened (which is rare) it just comes down to the players being told that said NPC is naked.

NUDITY IN MY BOOKS: So long as its not done too often it doesn't really bother me.

SEX IN MY GAMES: As with nudity its done off camera as it were. No one roleplays having sexual relations at the table.

SEX IN MY BOOKS: Again doesn't bother me so long as it doesn't happen too often. We don't need pictures or descriptions of it in a gaming supplement.

NECROPHILIA/BESTIALITY: They get a mention briefly in the BoVD and thats enough. Doesn't get roleplayed nor has it ever turned up in a game.

INTER-SPECIES SEX: As with sex, it happens off camera. Not a problem with it.

VIOLENCE: Don't have a problem with it. Violence happens. Combat, war...etc. We can get quite graphic here but no one has a problem with it.

TORTURE: This has been described by myself as DM and even the players (Evil characters mainly) have used torture for information when they have needed to.

MUTILATION: See torture.

CHILD MOLESTATION/ABUSE: This hasn't come up in a D&D game, although it has in varient form in a Vampire game before. Its a subject that should be dealt with kid gloves if used at all.

SEX IN GAME BOOKS: It doesn't particularly concern me either way. Unless a game's being specifically marketed to kids, I don't see any reason why it's any problem.

SEX IN GAME: Happens fairly frequently, but always off-stage. We usually play fairly normal, healthy characters, but actually describing sex acts would get awfully homoerotic, sitting in the basement, and it's generally never an important part of a story for the amount of time it would take to describe.

Necrophilia and Bestiality occur rarely, again off-camera. Though, the idea of having undead necrophilia being an important part of a story has intrigued me, and I may design something around that concept.

INTER-SPECIES RELATIONS: Pretty much necessary for the use of Half-Templates, which see a lot of use in my games. Since all sex occurs off-stage, something has to be truly alien to unnerve the people I play with. As soon as I see a Half-Aboleth template, I may try to play one to see who jumps.

RAPE: Happens fairly often, off-stage, and is only perpetrated by Evil NPCs. Even when we play evil characters, we try to make them classier than this.

TORTURE: Commonplace, both off and on-stage. A Good character won't instantly change alignment for using it, especially in extreme cases, but a pattern of torture will move someone towards evil. Paladins will lose Paladin-hood instantly, however.

VIOLENCE AND GORE: Commonplace, and described graphically when it occurs on-stage. Gratuitous, splatterpunk effects are avoided-- six-foot sprays of blood and a trail of severed heads tends to desensitize people, and it's easy to get just ridiculous. Realistic graphic violence can help enhance the sense of the dramatic in combat, though.

MUTILATION: Relatively frequent, though Good PCs and NPCs avoid mutilating anyone that's still alive. (See Torture) Even Good PCs will send parts of an evil cult's assassins back in pieces as a warning.

CHILD MOLESTATION/ABUSE: Almost never happens, almost always off-stage. Children whose parents are caught beating them usually end up orphans within a few minutes of meeting the PCs.

Ah, what the heck. I'll go ahead and give a useful reply....

NUDITY IN MY GAMES: Sometimes you're caught off guard. Sometimes you catch someone else off guard. Stripping you of everything can be a form of humiliation. You have to bathe, and when you do, wow is that the worst time for an ambush.

I've had a player come through a fight while bathing, having dropped several baddies, and the visual of him stepping out of the river clad in nothing but blood and gore was just awesome. Not necessarily for me, but the look on the other's faces was just priceless.

No harm in it.

NUDITY IN MY BOOKS: Conservative, and I'm ok with it. Think early early playboy mag type nudity. In regards to my literary nudity, also conservative.

SEX IN MY GAMES: All behinds the scenes. It's talked about, but it isn't roleplayed out at the table (those d4's dig into your back and it hurts like hell :D).

SEX IN MY BOOKS: Mostly behind the scenes. I.E., not smut, but occasionally, my literature might border on that. I've been known to get a little "showey", I believe it was called, but it's still done in good taste. Basically, in my literature, I make it obvious that sex is happening and I do my best to convey the reactions and state of mind of both, or all, parties involved.

NECROPHILIA: Behind the scenes, just like regular ol' sex. Might still happen from time to time with a really wicked NPC of mine, but still behind the scene or as something the PCs hear about while gathering info on said NPC. Hell, they might just surprise the NPC in the act. You never know.

Actually, I've written up an NPC that practices necrophilia, but there's a really wicked little twist. The soul of the body feels it, whether they want to or not, no matter where the soul is. That kinda borders into the rape area too, but since it wasn't listed in the first post, I'll go ahead and add it to mine.

BESTIALITY: Maybe as shock value or something. I don't know. The most I would incorporate it into a game is as a rumor you hear about an NPC or something.

INTER-SPECIES SEX: Again, behind the scenes, but in regards to species, whatever floats your boat. That goes for both NPCs _and_ PCs. If it helps your elf get into character by sleeping with a troll or something, hell, go for it. But, the act is behind the scenes (those damn d4's again, but nobody wants to wear that much make-up to play the troll anyway).

VIOLENCE: Conservative descriptions, like cuts, bruises, or quick descriptions of mortal wounds, such as "you slice the ogre in two at the waist, but it takes a second before they part ways and spill at your feet". However, if we're talking about scenic gore, oh hell yeah (if it helps set the mood of the scene). Either way, if it helps set up a scene sure. If not, I won't bother.

TORTURE: Oh hell yes! It's more a passive thing. There aren't any rolls involved in the torture itself. It's more about conveying that your captor is just a really cruel bastard, and it also gives you something to hate him for. However, I use this _very_ sparingly. I don't want anyone to get used to it and I don't want it to be a common theme in my games either.

MUTILATION: Same as torture.

CHILD MOLESTATION/ABUSE: Having a lot of knowledge about this subject, I'm ok with it and accept it as something that happens in the real world, like car jackings, but I use it only very very sparingly, and its always just used in backstory, like something the PCs might find out an NPC had been convicted of, or they might find the body of a dead boy or girl, with evidence of such a thing. (man was that a run-on or what?!) It certainly encourages my players to nab the bastard.

With that said, however, I simply have not once had the gutts to to introduce this subject with a child that still lives. I just haven't worked up the nerve, and I doubt I will. I think having it as backstory furthers the game better.

Now, for the touchy one...

RAPE: I don't have a problem using rape in my games, but most of the time its backstory, and if not, it takes place behind the scenes. Again, if it furthers the game, so much the better. If it doesn't, I don't use it.

SUMMARY: If a player of mine has a problem with one of these, I won't use it in the game. But, on the flip side of that token, if they have a problem with more than four of them, I won't have the player in my games, as they are probably better suited for a different type of DM.

Here's the wierd one though...

FAIRY TALE CINDERELLA/BEAUTY AND THE BEST TYPE GAMES: Yup. I run those too. Freaky, isn't it?
