Boycott VH1

Breakfast Club? I like that movie and haven't seen it for a while. I think I'd actually turn on the dusty TV to watch that if I knew when it was going to be on, VH1 or not. ;)

I don't watch VH-1 that much. MTV 2 maybe if it's Headbanger's Ball. It's better than some other crap out there. Plus the new UnderOath video = awesome. :)

Product boycotts? No. The rich people want you to think it is bad so you don't hurt their bottom line or stock values, but boycotting something is the only real way to get the rich boys to listen to you when they don't listen to you before you get ticked off enough to boycott. Same thing with the evil job strikers. How dare they cost the rich boys money because they don't share enough of the wealth to begin with? Strikers are bad, bad people! How dare they stand up for their own interests!
Now, that statement is fairly political.

I understand boycotts (I boycott Meijer due to how they treated my fiance, in addition to forcing an employee to work with another employee who intentionaly hospitalized said employee while on the job.)

Stay away from politics, folks.

Like TB, it turns out that I've been boycotting VH1 for years. Who knew?

I'm one of those people who has high speed internet access, but not cable TV. Every time I'm in a house with cable TV, I find myself staring at the screen at 3am as I compulsively flip channels. It's not a behavior I partiocularly enjoy, so I make it easier by not paying for cable.

"The first rule of Breakfast Club is, there is no breakfast." I LOVED that line.

I say a boycott is in order!

A boycott is pretty useless unless those who you boycott have a chance to notice. If you aren't part of the great ratings machine, the only impact you'd have is an indirect one, through the effectiveness of advertising on the station.

Rather than boycott (which implies an action intended to change their ways), why not just watch something entertaining as a better use of your time?

The difference between my boycotting VH1 and not boycotting VH1 is nil. I think about the only effect this thread will have is to remind me to program my Dish program listings to remove the channels I never watch, so I can scroll up to those I find interesting more easily. I did this some time ago removing VH1, MTV and a host of others. However I have changed my programming package a couple of times since then, and it needs updating.
