Buff Injustice

First Post
I would like to state a question about the basic buff (Bull's stenght, cat's grace, Olw's wisdom, Fox cunning, Eagle's Splendor and Endurance.)

Between you and I.... Who is usually the best caracter to beef up your caracter, the cleric or the wizard.

Wizard have all the upper buff but the cleric does'nt get the cat's grace spell.

Can you give me a "valide" reason why not.

So is the bull's strenght spell

Domain Strenght
Lv2: Bull's strenght.

An other thing what is the point to give a spell to a cleric that IS already in his spell list, at the same lv (kinda useless!!!)

But if they had made the domains full of Wiz. spells... who would be a wizard/sorcerer?

I honestly don't know any reason that Cat's grace wasn't in the Cleric's standard list, except that it wasn't in the previous version (2e) either.

I know this is going to start a heated discussion, but you could house rule it in there... pass that by the DM. Or take the specific domain which has Cat's grace. Or take the magic domain and just buy some scrolls with Cat's grace on it.

That the hard part my DM is Pro Wizard and it would be profane to ever think that a wiz spell could be use by a cleric... but somehow he think it's pretty cool that now his wizard can use cure spell....

Explaination:

Bard is a arcane user, he use scribe scroll to make cure light wounds scroll (Those scroll are arcane.... his wiz can use it) Dumm but a reality.... I still can hear him about "Class are balanced".... Sure!

I'm sure that if a Bard were to write down the songs in his head... only other bards would be able to cast those songs... sure they are arcane like... meaning that bards suffer from arcane spell failure when in armour, but a Wiz/Sorcerer can't use a Bard scroll because it isn't already on his class list.

Cat's grace is located in the domains of: celerity, elf, and halfling.

Clerics (excluding ones w/magic domain) can only use cleric scrolls.

Wiz./Sorcerer can only use Wiz./Sorcerer scrolls.

Bards can only use bards scrolls... without using the 'use-magic item' skill.

Clerics also have the Spells domain... the 3rd level spell, Anyspell will let you use a Wiz. 1st or 2nd in this slot. The 5th level Greater Anyspell can be filled by any Wiz. spell 4th or lower. But bear in mind you need a spellbook to memorize these from... or borrow you bestfreind's...

No, since they are only 2 type of magic: Arcane and Divine.

Arcane user: Bard, Wizard, Sorcerer
Divine user: Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Ranger.

There no such thing as Arcane like spell or divine like spell... the spell is ether one or the other!!

Like the domain of knowledge, a cleric could scribe a scroll of clairvoyance (It will be a divine scroll) the pass it to a paladin and he could use it since he's a divine caster!!!!

Edit: Sorry i let myself out... can you point me where i can find this rules of exclusive scroll using..:)

To have any chance of activating a scroll spell, the caster
must meet the following requirements:

The spell must be of the correct type (arcane or divine).
Arcane spellcasters cannot cast divine spells from a
scroll, nor can divine spellcasters cast arcane spells in
this manner.

The user must have the spell on his or her class list.

The user must have the requisite ability score.

Cure Light Wounds is not on the Wizards class list, therefore a Wizard cannot use a scroll of Cure Light Wounds (regardless of whether it is Arcane or Divine).
