Buying Eberron in Brisbane Australia

We're everywhere.

Well, everywhere but centralised in Brisbane, is what I mean. :)

I recently had a chat to one of the Ace guys about this very topic and, as Patrick said, he put it all down to different distributors.

What Daily Planet does have over Ace is that they tend to get a lot of RPG stuff in a lot more regularly. They've had Kenzer's Goods and Gear for a week or so ago while Ace didn't even have it on their catalog list.

Still, I'd go for Ace anytime. And you get plenty of exercise climbing those 300,000 flights of stairs. ;)

Jakar, I am in Adelaide and I used to live in Brisbane. I know your heartache, but I buy 90% of my role-playing stuff from the States (usually through Amazon.com or eBay.com). Even with delivery, it works out cheaper most of the time, especially if you buy 2 or 3 things at once.

Australian get shafted this way not only with books but with most things. Buy online, and the brick and mortal stores will eventually realise that they can't keep ripping off the consumer!

That was my vent. ;)

I know this is off topic but I am surprised to see a fellow Adelaidian (not a real word but I don't care) on the boards. Where do you live in Adelaide Saankiip? And are you playing in a game at the moment? I'm not looking for a game currently (too busy with work, study and wedding plans) but I would like to try and keep in contact with the needle in the haystack that is the Adelaide gaming community.

Back on topic I buy most of my RPG's from "Milsims". I used to buy all my books from "Tactics" (before it closed down) and "Game Quest" here in Adelaide before I discovered "Milsims" existed. I still buy some things such as Dragon, Dungeon and novels from "Game Quest" but I find that all of the RPG books are quite expensive compared to "Milsims". On the other hand I find that the person I speak to when I order from "Milsims" is a little lacking in the service area. On a couple of occasions I have placed phone orders and only found out when the order arrived that half the order was not in stock and had been backordered. Could they not tell me on the phone that they didn't currently have it in stock.

I have always found "Game Quest" to be very friendly and helpful and that is probably the reason why I keep going back despite paying a little more. In terms of range and price though my FLGS "Game Quest" can compete with "Milsims". In the end I guess I am willing to accept crap service if it means a good range and price! :\
