Can a druid take a T-REx at 1st level? Does it scale?

According to the pathfinder society guide to open play, a druid may take a T-rex (among other things from the bestiary) as an animal companion.

At level 1, the T-Rex would have 2 HD and a BAB of +1. How does the 18d8 damage scale down?

Is it legal by the RAW?

Druid's animal companions, as per RAW of Pathfinder PRD, are limited.

There is no T-Rex on the list.

However, as per Bestiary, additional companions are possible (the information is listed at the end of creature's entry). There we can find info on T-Rex companion:
Tyrannosaurus Companions

To put ruemere's point more simply, you can have something that looks like a mini T. rex and kind of functions like one, but doesn't really come close to the mechanical effectiveness of an actual tyrannosaur. The mini one is balanced for play at 1st level, while the "true" one would throw almost any game out of whack.
